A lot of people thought his only chance to win the first fight was on the ground

Curious though. Does anyone think the fight was stopped to early? The end of the round was very near. Will Serra complain about this later when he sees how close the end of the round was?
Looked like to me that St. Pierre got Serra's wind with those knees just before the stoppage.
Hughes vs. Serra up next. Mark it down.

Nah , Sarah didnt even give the ref a "wtf" look after it was stopped. Just put his head down and knew he was dominated.

Didn't it look like Serra verbally tapped? Looked like he said something to the ref.

That was unfair fight. It's a fluke. They have some cheater. Because GSP is just to strong so that not fair lol.
No really love the fight, was so nervous and so happy for him. He great.
But one thing I hate. RDS GSP is not on the front page.

Fine, but his game isn't standing up. That was my point, not that GSP beat him at his game.

A lot of people were wrong, and usually are.

I did. His right eye was jacked up from 2 strikes, and his left eye got jacked deep in the 2nd round after he was gassed. Re-read what I typed. He avoided taking a ton of damage. Didn't say he didn't take damage, but it could have been much worse.

Wrong. GSP took him down in what, 3 seconds? GSP didn't think it was lucky obviously and was scared to death of his power.

Lol ..... scared to fall prey to another lucky punch by an underskilled fighter who closes his eyes and swings madly.

So when a wrestler takes down a BJJ guy and pounds him out, you consider that "beating him at his own game"?

Luck had nothing to do with it.
Serra knew GSP was probably gonna try to dance around and strike with him like he had done with Hughes. His whole gameplan was to step in there and catch him, which he did.
GSP is the better fighter and would win most of the times they would meet, but that doesn't mean it was a lucky shot.

Pretty much. A lucky punch that landed on the back of the head. While GSP is the better striker and more technical, he didn't want to risk another lucky punch... even though the odds of it happening again were slim. So he took a BJJ guys and pounded him out. Good fight, I'm happy with the result.

But honestly, if is always ready and prepared like that to every fight. I don't see anyone be able to beat him.
Yesterday on the weight in. I found GSP smaller than normal. Today when he take out is GI. I was impresse how big he was now. Damn, that dude is a athlete.
And Serra was trying everything. Try 2-3 times a triangle. But I found something on the fight. Serra was giving is back a lot of times. Do you think it's was something about strategie? Because a bjj black belt will not give so many times is back like that.
Now I only wait for Hughes-Serra

Awww .... your boy who got a title shot by beating shonie carter and chris lytle and then landing a lucky punch to win the title got manhandled and destroyed so you want to insult me. Lol you're too funny.
I've never tried to hide the fact that i thought serra got lucky and was completely undeserving of a title shot. Sorry i didn't jump on the "serra is an MMA master" bandwagon. That whole season of Tuf was a horrible idea and did nothing but mess up the WW division for a year. Serra will now quietly slip away into the background. Maybe him and lutter can open a gym together.

Well not really, but the fight DID take place on the ground where a BJJ guy is comfortable. So if he couldn't sub him or defend himself without the fight being stopped, then I guess you could say, in a sense, yes. But if you want to be technical, then NO GSP did not beat Serra at his own game. All I know is Serra got schooled and his reign is over .

GSP proved why he is the most dominant contender the UFC has ever seen. Now hopefully he can just defend that belt and prove why he is top 3 p4p in the world.

How am I insulting you? You've done nothing but bash Serra by calling him a woman's name (which is extremely childish) and I've done nothing but give credit where credit's due. I'm calling a spade a spade and you're just fighter bashing. And Serra's not "my boy" (which is once again a prepubescent comment on your part). I always pull for the underdog, especially when the favorite is being salivated over by the masses. It's not my fault your poor little feathers got ruffled when "my boy" stomped "your boy" the first time around. Now you're prancing around like a peacock. Enjoy.

Serra coming out to a redone version of the Rocky theme. Awesome.
Realizing various similarities between Rocky 4 and Serra/GSP 2. Like Small funny-looking american vs large strong forienger. American fighting in foriegner's homeland. Old guy v young guy. Awesomer.
Starting to believe... Awesomest.
Being slammed back down to earth by a GSP takedown while realizing that Drago would murder Rocky in real life. Priceless.
WAR GSP!

And that is where we differ. Serra IMO deserves NO credit what so ever.
