will we see GSP go for the immediate takedown ala his fight vs. Koscheck? Or is he going to try to prove his stand-up?
I gotta back Serra in this. He proved himself in the last fight and GSP was out of line for his post-fight comments. Unless you get Kerrigan-ed on the way into a fight, there are no excuses for a loss. Take it and let your future actions do the talking.

yup, like vs Koscheck, he wanted to show his complete dominance.
side note: GSP almost broke his ankle with that back flip!

Whats that? Serra didn't do a thing !! That's how GSP does, Serra wasn't a fluke? haha that's funny Serra didn't land a single shot, just throws like a goon he knew that was his only chance !
All you GSP haters, it's time to shut up, GSP beat Serra down bad, made him look real bad ! And it wasn't just 1 lucky punch that did it, beat him down for almost 2 complete rounds !
WAR GSP !

Serra the fluke champion is no more. Never seen a more overhyped fighter. UFC has him sporting a 16-4 record? LMAO, more like 9-5.

So Sarah has heavy hands and that seems to be about it. Wild strong punches might win you some fights , but it the long run , skill will always prevail.

Good win for GSP. He proved what most everyone already knew, that Serra's win in their first fight was a fluke.

Defintely not GSP "beating Serra at his own game", but it was total domination. Once again GSP shows his unwillingness to trade with anyone, but why would he when he's clearly the best wrestler in MMA. Credit Serra for not taking a ton of damage until he gassed 1/2 way through the second, and credit both fighters for the class they showed after the fight.
The most credit should go to the crowd IMO. The single best crowd I have ever seen @ a North American event. Extremely receptive, knowledgeable, and respectful. Great event.
GSP vs. Fitch has to happen now. Period.

HOLY ****! That's a HUGE load off my mind - I had completely refrained from saying ANYTHING (be it through betting or predictions or even casual conversation) in these recent weeks that might jinx the outcome of this match.
I'm so glad that GSP pulled through in this one... but don't you dare say "Pulled through? He dominated! Serra never stood a chance!", because Serra won the title fair and square... whether or not GSP "took him seriously" is trivial - this is pro MMA, and in the UFC no less - there really aren't any breaks in this sport, so nobody should ever say that any one opponent deserves any more or less preparation than another.
Also, both men showed great sportsmanship at the end, which makes me happy as well. I think they're both on good terms again now.

Serra didn't land a single shot?
You sure about that?
Also, "GSP haters"? Yeah, those guys are taking over. They're everywhere.
Well done, GSP. Another complete domination.
But some of you GSP-fanboys need to quit being babies about Serra handing him that beatdown the first time they fought.

Aaaaaaaaannnd........Natural Order is restored to the MMA Universe. GSP by complete domination. Those knees were BRUTAL!
Curious though. Does anyone think the fight was stopped to early? The end of the round was very near. Will Serra complain about this later when he sees how close the end of the round was?
Looked like to me that St. Pierre got Serra's wind with those knees just before the stoppage.
Hughes vs. Serra up next. Mark it down.

Serra won't complain. His father didn't get sick, his cousin didn't die, and his manager didn't screw him. I agree with you though, that's the first time I can recall a ref stopping a fight due to body shots. May have been a tad early, but I didn't see Matt complaining. Didn't change the outcome at all and Serra knew it.

Serra's game IS the ground game, if I'm not mistaken.

Serra's game is submissions, not GnP. Last time I checked, Serra didn't get caught in a submission. Not like Serra has a bunch of submissions to his name anyway, his only chance to win this fight was on the feet.
