I said that when he quit his fight on TUF and Shamrock shamed him for it. I said then that Starnes would never be a great fighter or even a good fighter. A lot of you guys defended Starnes. But, last night, Starnes proved me right.
I hope that we never see Starnes in any big show events ever again. If I were Dana White, then I would not even put Starnes on the prelim card. I would have Starnes outside of the arena running around the parking lot with a sign promoting the event. That's as close as he deserves after that running away BS.
It reminded me of the Gurgel-Hominick fight. Thank God that the judges did not screw up and award Starnes the match. Starnes deserved less than 30-24 from the judges. I would have given him 30-0, if I were the judge. Starnes did not fight.

I have to agree with you Sub, you're completely right. I was one of the people defending Kalib, but i was just disgusted in his performance last night.

Yeah, it was extremely noticable how much better movement he had this time out. Usually he's so stiff, mechanical & rigid looking in there, but this time he actually had a flow to his movements & seemed less locked into "pattern" punching as he has in the past. Still not going to be mistaken for A. Silva anytime soon....but very good to see him coming back so well from his back problems.

Kalib Starnes and Lutter can hang out in the "not invited to fight in the octagon ever again" club. Also props to Quarry. He's gone thru a lot (back surgery) and has a great sense of humor. Props to me for betting on him and picking him to win a decision! How bout a nate vs. nate fight (quarry vs marqart)?

I thought Kalib would be in trouble when I saw the weigh ins, he did not come in shape and he flat out embarrassed himself.

Well Starnes disappointed, yes, but I don't think we should be comparing him to Lutter at this point. At least in Starnes other fights he has put up a fight against guys who were possibly better than him. His defense in this fight did not look as solid as it did against Leben, but he still survived.

It seems to me that the TUFers are somehow protected in the UFC much more than other fighters. We have seen a bunch of them suck and come back for another shot, and then another... Starnes is no different. He lost bad against Belcher, was boring as hell against Leben, and now he shows nothing against Quarry, but I bet you he'll be back in an under-card.

THE WORLD ANXIOUSLY ANTICIPATES THE RESULTS OF QUARRY STARNES!!!!
Easily one of the worst fights I have seen in sometime. This made Sanchez/Sao from 79 look like Griffin/Guida. Starnes should just quit, he doesnt even want to be in there it seems.

This may the first and only time I will say that I hope a fighter comes up with some awful news about his goldfish dying or something to explain why he was so bad. I like Starnes and I thought he would put in a good fight.
Makes me think he had one weak game plan and when that failed he was lost.

I agree, Nate was much more fluid than I have ever seen him. I believe he could beat most of the MWs w/ his stand up and brawl style w/ the exception of Silva and Franklin.....
As far as Starnes, I really could not believe what I was watching; I was like "seriously, are you kidding me?" while watching him constantly run.....

If you're Starnes, how could you even show your face again at your training camp after such a shameful showing?

not sure why this match up was not quarry vs belcher, as belcher looked great when he picked apart starnes at 77. that would have been a great muay thai fight.

I was a fan of Kaleb after TUF3 but after his last few performanes I honestly wouldnt care if I never saw him fight again.
I mean really, what was his gameplan for this fight? Maybe he thought if he lasted the 3 rounds he'd automatically get a hometown decision?
It must have been bad for him getting booed by the Canadians fan and having to listen to them cheer for Quarry lol! That little bit where it showed them before the decision and the fans were booing and cheering was like something out of a pantomime lol!

LMAO at Quarry's "running man" and the crowd! Quarry's a class act though. Starnes deserved the diss.

personally, i think his performances have been entertaining...especially that beat down on leben. I was always one of the guys sayin how good kalib is and all
this was the only performance of his that has been bad, and it was absolute horse****...id still like to see him come back to the UFC i hope something was wrong
but seriously, no one has seemed to mention the two or three leg kicks tat literally spun kalib around 360 and smacked him against the cage they were hilarious
i loved nate quarrys use of body punches in hic combinations...i was so worried in the first few minutes of the fight that he was chasing too much and too aggressively and was going to get countered...but then again i had no idea that kalib did not come to fight but to try out for a position as a Corner in the NFL
