That is what I'd tend to think too, but you never know, he could get caught in that after shock and lose like Chuck did. Stranger things have happenend.

It was very close and most of the rounds could have gone either way. Forrest was clearly the Aggressor, and that is one of the deciding factors when judging. Dana's just setting things up for Chuck to get his title back.

Wanderlei Silva could beat Forrest. Nothing's guaranteed in this sport, but I'd put my paycheck on it.

I don't know Dude, I haven't seen anything from Chuck, lately, that would've beat Forrest tonight. Not saying it won't/can't happen...because Chuck could very well do it...I hope...but honestly, Chuck's been stopped twice by Rampage and Forrest handed it to him tonight. And, let's not forget Wandy, Machida, or Shogun either. Loaded division.

There seems to be an abundance of people who think they'd be better judges than the ones used for this fight. And this all seems to mirror the standard behavior of people who's favorite fighter lost. This is why I hate decisions, because there is no absolute, no definitive answer to who won.

The way I look at it, round 1 went to Rampage because Forrest got dropped. Round 2 went to Forrest, and despite the accuracy of the 10-8 scoring, everyone has to agree that Rampage laid on his back like a limp noodle for over 3 minutes without any noticeable effort to escape. Round 3 I gave to Forrest simply because he was more active and seemed to control the cage more. Round 4 went to Rampage for having the more aggressive performance and round 5 went to Forrest for again, throwing and landing more than what Rampage could have.

I'd also like to point out that the bashing on Forrest because he's a former TUF figher are getting very old. It shouldn't matter where people get their start from, and if people did their homework they would quickly learn that Forrest had a very respectable record before he ever went on TUF.

So in short, enjoy the fact that you actually got to see a title fight for the 205 belt (a very very rare occasion) and look forward to who Forrest's next opponent will be.

Also I got a question, when it was announced that one judge scored it 49-46 did Forrest look really disappointed?

.
Great point about TUF. Who Friggin' cares where that he did TUF? He's also beat the #1 ranked LHW, in the world, two fights in a row too.

I thought the fight was very close, but I do agree that Forrest deserved the win. In my opinion, rounds 2 (obviously) and 3 (though pretty close) belonged to Forrest for sure. I'd give the 4th to Rampage, though it was a pretty back and forth brawl. The 1st round was tough to call, and so was the last... so I expected it to be 48-47 for the winner across the board, but apparently not.

Anyways, I'm stoked on a new LHW champion

Well, I'm not a huge fan of either fighters but I must give it up to both of them! They both came in to fight, and thats what they did! Me personally, I thought it could go either way, but reguardless, I give props to both of them for going out and giving five hard five minute rounds!

I would have to give it to Rampage, even though it was a close fight. In most cases in order to win the title your have to obviously be the one who won the fight. I thin the judges had something to do with it also, as stated before they're not fimiliar with mma.

I call BS. This decision could have possibly gone either way, but the claims of 10-8 rounds are crazy, accompanied by the overhyping of Forrest throughout the fight by GoldRogan, whom seemed to be completely biased. It is almost enough to make me go all conspiracy theorist.
If Rampage wins, what is the next big LHW title fight? Nobody in particular. Machida is boring, Shogun lost, Wandy lost to Chuck, and Chuck lost to Page. But if Forrest wins, Forrest vs Chuck(Student vs teacher) is a possibility, Rampage vs Shogun/Wandy are possibilities since it is no longer a title shot, which they otherwise did not deserve. These options are potentially big paydays.

Well, I lost all my points but I'm not too bummed about this.

All the crap Rampage talked before the fight came back and bit him in the ass. He didn't give Forrest enough respect, and here we are.
I guess you weren't the champ for "a looong time" after all.
I guess the fight did go to a decision, did you bet your whole purse on it?
Gonna retire now, Juanito?
Time for some humble pie, boys.

And how is calling the 2nd round 10-8 biased?
C'mon now.
You could see in the first round that Rampage was gonna have problems with those leg kicks and he got hurt in the 2nd bad. Then he was dominated for the rest of the round.
Damage+domination=10-8.

I had it scored 47-47 with rd2 being a 10-8 round for Griffin, so I was pretty surprised it was a UD for Forrest.

Good fight tho. It worried me from the start that Rampage was just eating all those leg kicks, he didnt seem to check any of them which was weird. Kinda reminded me of the first round of the Gonzaga/Werdum fight.

I still cant get my head around Forrest being the LHW champ!

Come on bro .... no way that was a 10-8 round. Forrest laid on top of Rampage for 3 minutes and caused zero damage while doing so. Landed 2 brutal leg kicks yes but just laid in half guard for most of the round.

I think the fight was very close .... with the 3rd round being the questionable one. But i do believe that if a fight is that close and goes the distance , the current champions hand must be raised. Of course i lost 2 mil on the fight and i dont like Forrest very much so i am a little biased. But i honestly believe forrest didnt do enough to get the clear cut victory.

ha, i actually knew better than come to a forum and voice a personal opinion without having the close minded so called "experts" here with with thier 3 million posts banding together and taking the easy to argue side of a fight and downing those that disagree. you know what though, i'm gonna leave this place for good on a high note by being the bigger person. i commend you guys on your vast and superior knowledge of everything MMA from the UFC TUF and everything else SPIKE tv has put out for you guys to watch over the last 2 or 3 years. and no matter what anyone says, you're not gay for being in Urjah Faber's fan club so don't let them tell you other wise. last of all, you guys keep hating on anyone with conflicting opinions regarding fight results or heck even the opinions of a couple of douche bags like yourselves. wouldn't want any original thinking going on in here, right! well keep on posting i'm sure at this rate you've posted at least double the amount of nonsense crap than the person second to you guys and for that on some level of douche bagness you should be proud.

I couldn't for the life of me stay up to watch the main event, sounds like the repeat will be worth a watch.

It was certainly much closer than what the judges scored it.

For me Rampage won Round 1 and 4 easily, whilst i also think he took the 3rd round. Forest definitely won the 2nd Round but did so little damager considering he was on top of him for over 3 minutes. Round 5 could have gone either way.

But nobody should really ever complain about the judges decision as both fighters have 25 minutes to make sure the judges can't influence the title.

They did the same thing during the Crocop and Gonzaga fight.. and you saw how that ended.

Good job to him.

PS: Joe just said you can't say the Shogun fight is a fluke anymore, why does he kiss Forrest's a$$ so much? Shogun and Rampage are 2 different fighters, and it still deffinitly was a fluke, not the fight but the fact Shogun came in such bad shape.
That last statement was part fluke and part excuse.....
