Who Has the best takedowns in the game?
I would like to know who everyone thinks has the best takedowns, not just the coolest most powerful ones, but also the most consistant and effective ones.

I like to think Randy Couture has great takedown skills, he can shoot, trip, scoop, single or double, and powerslam. He has taken down so many people including chuck liddell, tito ortiz, vitor belfort, tim sylvia, kevin randleman, pedro rizzo, mike vanarsdale, mo smith, and jeremy horn. If guys have good defense he works around it and puts them down if he wants too. Another thing to consider is the respect people give his takedowns, many have fallen to them and or fear them.
Matt Hughes also has extreme wrestling capabilities and has brought down so many guys as well.

MMA in general, i think everyone has a guy that they believe is the best. I just started this thread because i think there are a lot of different options and points to be made.

Karo's tosses always impress me, a little guy like him is hurling muscle heads across the cage like they were nothing. I think Karo utilizes judo better than anyone in the sport. He and Diego had a great fight that displayed strengths on both sides.
Great pick Cujo

^^^they definitely count
he always winds up in either a superior position to strike, a position to apply a submission, or actually has a submission by the time the opponent and himself come to rest on the canvas
its amazing, i may actually have to agree with you on that one, taking judo and making it that effective in MMA is incredible

I don’t like the attitude of some of the fans who always like to complain. When they say if you had a quick fight that they wished it was longer and if you have a long fight they say you should have beaten this guy quicker. Some people you just can’t please. If it is so easy, they can put on a glove and do it themselves. I’ll watch them fight.

Im surprised it took the whole 2 minutes this thread has existed for someone to say Rampage, In the middle of starting this i was kind of guessing who the most picked guys would be and i knew he'd be one. i think his slams are some of the most exciting( arona on his head was devistating). I definately have him on my list too.

Best to me I guess would be Couture off the top of my head, but coolest has to go to Karo's judo throws FTW.

I would say Josh Koscheck or Randy Couture. Josh Koscheck has that awesome shoot, but Randy Couture has overcome more obstacles with his wrestling. He's more proven than Koscheck.

Fedor - He just takes people down at will from the clinch. It doesn't even seem like he's doing it but he's got crazy throws and trips. He's strong like a bear so they just look effortless.
Couture - Many, many, many ways to take a guy down. He's put everyone he'e fought on their back and what's even more impressive is that he keeps them there.
Randleman - Pure wrestling shot with so much power and explosion behind it. When he's on it's a thing of beauty.

I think KOS has the best takedown in MMA right now. Should be fun to see if GSP can stuff him.
