I agree 185%. These days, you shouldn't even get on the internet if you don't wanna know. Accomodate the majority....not the minority of forum-ites. IMO
And yes......I know that I need to update my sig! Maybe I'll just leave it up until it's correct again.

People are saying that if people dont want spoilers than they shouldn't come to a forum but I for one always like to come in and go into the chat and whatnot not long before a ppv starts and talk about the card ect. I think people should be able to do stuff like that without worrying about haveing fights spoiled. If people would just use the spoiler section and stop complaining then everybody could be happy.
BTW Ya Aika, it was last night.

who cares of the rule is "hard to follow" i have no trouble following that rule at all... and i have since its start.... i am simply agreeing with those who think its off base, for the several reasons listed above

I see what you are saying but I think you are taking him argueing with you too personally and getting defensive.
Sorry about getting this off topic.

who knows maybe.... i guess since i dont ever post any spoilers i have nothing to worry about... just wish i could talk more freely on an mma site right after an event when its most exciting... FF has stalled a bit IMO because of this, and all the fun threads that usually come off right after the event have disappeared lately, as have members... just my thoughts

Well said once again.
I think it's pretty clear that there are only a few people complaining about spoilers after events. Once the event is over it shouldn't be taboo to talk about it.
WHen UFC 70 was televised in England I knew the matches were taking place around 4:00pm EST time. I said to myself, I'm not going to Sherdog or FF or MMAWeekly.com after 4:00 because I didn't want it spoiled. I think it's easier for a few people to stop snooping around after an event then it is for 95% of the members to watch what they say and post in special forums.

that sums it up pretty well... also again ill just add in that undercards shouldnt be talked about till the event is over and they are shown or not shown...
ESPN, FOXSPORTS, and now every other major outlet tells you right afterwards who wins and how.... but at FF we cant talk about it for over a full day later? please..!!
beyond that i guess im sick of talking about it lol

Cro Cop versus Gonzaga is a good reason why the no spoiler rule was in effect. That fight got spoiled for me because I was looking at the thread that was NOT supposed to have a spoiler. So, the rule is a great rule and should stay in place.

Some of us only came to these forums because the no spoiler rule was in effect. A bunch of idiots could not even follow that simple rule and Mirko-Napao was spoiled for a lot of people.

read the whole thread.....
wasnt that fight in the UK??? those fights arent an issue with those arguing this... those fights SHOULD have spoilers, but are very far and few between... most events are held in the states...
besides, ESPN and EVERYWHERE will be showing results right away... people are going to just be out of luck... its a matter of whether or not FF can talk about them as EVERYWHERE else will be lol

There are plenty of members in the UK and the events don't air right away over there. Therefore all events in the US should have spoilers until the airing in the UK. It is not like there are only 1 or 2 people from over there and they should be afforded the same courtesy and respect that we expect from them when there is an event in the UK.

Its unfortunate that a few members who are completely addicted to being on internet forums are forcing the rest of us to stay out of relevant conversations after an event. Yes there is another sub-forum but that doesn't get nearly the traffic this one does. I think it should be very simple for people that don't watch fights live to stay away from the forum. However I think for some people here thats like telling them to not smoke crack.

It would get the traffic IF THE SPOILERS WOULD USE IT!!!
I think that was the point... USE THE SPOILER FORUM SECTION!

I can't believe there are so many members all butt hurt about posting in a subforum rather than the main forum. The problem with having a subforum for people who don't want the event spoiled is they still have to go through the main one to get there and if somebody puts a result in their title it could still get spoiled. Not to mention one subforum for all the topics would get very congested. For those who want to talk about the events it is easier to go to the subforum because it is one place for one topic. I think that the threads should be moved to the regular forums 24 hrs. after the event, or whatever the delay in the UK is, so the results section stays nice and tidy.

the arguments being made in this tread are just silly. The reason thr results section doesnt get a lot of traffic is because people who can watch it live are probably watching it with friends and dont care to post at that time. The people who cant watch it live should not have to cut off the rest of the world before the fight. I mean some people are posting spoilers while the event is still going. Just make the click and be done with it. Stop acting like children. Adults have to follow some rules. This fight forum contains everything from UFC to Boxing to K-1 and your telling me I cant discuss ANY of them while waiting to watch an event that I cant get live? Just because you are too lazy to go to the results section? Does that really make sense to you people? I joined FF because there are a lot of intellegent well informed posters here. There are plenty of forums I could go to and have to deal with totally insensitve crap. I come here because we have rules. If you dont get a lot of traffic in the results thread it could be because people are avoiding that section because that section will have results in it. So please dont force yourself on us by posting spoilers in the section we dont expect it to be in. If you have to talk about it directly after or during just go to Sherdog. No one over there gives a damn about anyone else so Im sure youll fit right in.

I think a lot of the reason is also that not everyone that visits this forum knows about it.
Maybe all you guys that hate this should force the mods to make a test for everyone that joins so everyone is 100% on your page.
I think everyone needs to live and let live, this is just an internet forum...

Whether there's a sub-forum for results or not, there should still be spoiler rules, and bans for idiots that can't follow them. MMA is worldwide, as are the people who post here. You can't possibly know if every event is playing at the same time in every country. So for 24 hours after you see it, treat it as a though it's a spoiler. How in hell does that hurt you, and it could benefit others.

i still totally disagree.... UFC results are all over sportscenter and all media outlets at this point.... your asking FF to be the last place to discuss it which is ridiculous.... in the end, new memebers wont know about the spoiler forum anyway....
hell even guile posted the title, rampage crushes ice with KO or something like that RIGHT after the fight that could be plainly seen... its not at all worth it in my opinion... i will continue to respect the CURRENT rules, but i seriously doubt itll matter in the long run

I think we need to have a sticky thread with a poll in it for the next week or two and ask if people like the spoiler rule or not and let all FF decide. Then we will know the majority and the minority will need to respect that, which ever way it goes.

How can you compare FF to sportscenter??? Sportscenter is sports new, FF is a discussion forum. I'm sure there are alot of people that want to come on FF to talk about stuff that isn't related to a PPV like boxing or just general MMA stuff like fighter signings but they can't because people keep posting spoilers.
I don't think it's right or fair to expect people in places like Europe to not come here and talk just because people are jerks and can't follow an extremely simple rule.
As for new members, they would know about the spoiler subforum if they read the thread at the top of the page that says "banned for spoilers".
