Do we really need the spoiler rules?
I am not sure what the deal is with these spoiler rules.
One of my favorite things is to come on this forum and discuss what we have seen after a card goes off.
Now I have to wait some arbitrary amount of time so some people who intend to see it but haven't can visit the forum while preserving their ignorance.
Here's my question.....why?? Is this some kind of policy coming from the business side of things? Is it because of time zone differences and people wanting to sell pay per views and they think that people will be less likely to buy them if they know the results?
Well, that is flawed logic if that is the case. Anyone who wants the results can get them, and the few who are doing the "don't ruin it for me" schtick can simply stay off the forum until after they have seen the event.

There is a subforum in every forum dedicated to spoilers. It only adds one click to your hunting. Is that so much to ask? Some people come on here for more than just discussing event results and may have the event recorded for later viewing.

the major discussions of the fights still happen on this forum.
This is where people discuss what they have seen. They just have to wait to do it now.
I would be satisfied if we simply made it no spoilers in the thread title.
Like say call the thread Rampage v Liddell post fight discussion.
That way the title does not give it away and those who don't want to know the results can decide not to click on it.

There is a no spoiler in the thread title rule. But having the results section makes it easier to find all the threads dedicated to event results in one spot, and easier to avoid if you don't want to know. Some members have to record the events and watch at a later time, but may want to pop in before watching. A single mouse click is a very little bit of effort but can save a whole lot of headache for a lot of people.

I've chimed in on this before and I guess I will again. I think this spoiler mess has gone too far. Fight forum operated fine for a long time without these crazy spoiler rules. I really just have to question why 98% of the FF members have to tread so lightly around threads or even have to post in some seperate subforum just to keep spoiler results for ruining 2% of the populations day. I too question why people even show up here directly after a fight when they do not want to know the results. Thats insane to have to watch everything you say simply because one or two guys are afraid they are going to read something they shouldn't.
The seperate subforum is not a pain beacuse it's an additional click for us. It sucks because it's seperating the UFC into seperate forums, one of which may not even be needed to look at 2 days after an event. But of course we won't know so we'll have to read the main forum and then go over to that subforum to see if there are any replies to our other threads.
Why not make the subforum for the few people that don't want to see spoilers instead of shutting down the main forum to all but small talk.
I know I'm ranting but this is crazy. I really like the fight forums but this one has me shaking my head

Im not sure why people keep b****ing about this rule, I don't think it is too hard to just go into the spoiler sub forum if you want to talk about the fights. That said I do agree somewhat with anti-sanchez about the subforum.
I think the best solution would be to get rid of the subforum but not allow spoilers in threads that aren't marked as spoiler threads. As long as the spoiler threads are marked as a spoiler thread and don't have spoilers in the title then everybody should be happy.

Watching the PPV in Live Chat won't save you from spoilers. We watched both undercard fights knowing the endings, because nayr01 came on and spoiled them. Just after three people in the Chat said "no spoilers please". It's freakin impossible to control people, no matter what you do, how many times you ask, how many subforums there are.
I like the "banned for spoilers" rule, that definitely works. Nothing else does.

I'm with Bomber and Dirty.
If you people are too lazy to go to the results thread, then screw off.
The spoiler rule is a good rule. Learn to LOVE IT!

I'm as tired of this subject as anyone, but as long as its on the table I'll throw my vote in to say we lose the spoilers rule for the usual reasons:
1) I come here to talk about fighting. The spoiler forum is never that populated and it just causes the discussion to be scattered.
2) If you don't want the fights spoiled, don't go to sherdog, don't go to MMAweekly, don't go to UFC.com, don't come here to FF. It isn't that hard to not have the fights spoiled.
3) It's a ****ty thing to get banned for. We've lost some good members due to a rule that I firmly believe is nonsense.
I don't really care either way, though. It's not a big deal to me if the rule stays or goes, I just consider it a slight annoyance but it's yalls house, so do with it what you please.

Couldnt agree more....I dont come here or any MMA sites on the day of the event for that reason...
Just the same, if I record a baseball game, I'm not going to watch Sportscenter prior to watching the game....
Seems like it would be pretty much common sense that if you dont want something spoiled for you, you would take precautions to avoid any type of media that may be associated with the event prior to watching it...

I do think the spoilers should start being allowed in regular UFC forum the moment the event is paid out on vbookie.

Well now days if you do not want to see fight results you might as well turn off Cable, Internet, and not buy a paper as MMA is becoming more mainstream now. Are you going to bitch at ESPN for showing an MMA result at #2 on its Countdown. Sorry but some FF members need to drop the self-righteous attitudes. If a mod thinks it should be moved they can move it end of discussion.

lol agreed... thats all there is to it... maybe a brief delay of no spoilers such as not talking about undercards because they may broadcast them during the ORIGINAL broadcast... beyond that, if you dont want to knowk whats going on WHY would you go on FF lol

We had the undercard spoiled last night in the chat. I hate that ****!
But anyway, yeah I think the no spoiler thing is a lil out hand but I try to respect the time zones/international people that can't see the fights live.

Ya TICL did the same thing in chat. It really sucks that people don't have enough respect for other people to not say spoilers when people don't want to hear them. I don't think members that cant see it live should have to avoid the forums or chat. I always make sure if I am going to talk about spoilers in chat that there is nobody in there that doesnt want to know the results, I just wish other people like TICL would show a bit of courtesy, espescially seeing as he got so pissed when somebody spoiled UFC 70 for him.

UFC 70 was perfect to show the US crowd how it feels to get the event spoiled IMO.
