Does the UFC really expect 72 to be successful with 4 fights
I just don't understand the UFC's thinking on this card. If they are planning on making people pay for the card, then there should be 5 televised fights, and the fights to be honest should be a bit more competetive for the most part. The fights are good but they are not as big of names yet to be supporting a card with no title shots on it yet.
If the UFC is planning on only showing 4 fights for the card, then they should make this card another free ppv show.

Um, all main cards have 4 fights... Unless those all go to a decision, then you'll get to see more then the 4 main card fights.

Actually no, all the PPV cards lately have had 5 fights for sure, as for this thread there have already been a few on this subject, you just got to look around.

Usually the main card has 4 or 5 fights with one undercard fight (rarely two) being shown after the main event via tape, depending on how stacked the card is, and the running time of the live events versus the running time of the taped events, taking amt of PPV timeslot remaining into consideration.

Ya I'm yet to see a PPV card with only 4 fights on it. Even UFC 70 was a five fight card night. The 4 fight events are the Ultimate Fight Night and those arent even showing that many for whatever reason now. They are only showing 3. It better not be the start of the UFC cheaping the fans out of their events now.

I think the UFC knows that this PPV will lose some money. With Spike balking at the event and the HBO deal falling through, I think the UFC just decided that it's better to lose money than to cancel an event and open themselves up to criticism.

One rumor was that Shoguns debut was going to be announced as the fifth fight. Doesnt look that way now with only like 2 weeks until the event.
