How does Okami compare to MacDonald?
Both are large for 185lb'ers. Both like it on the ground.
Will Franklin be able to do to Okami what he did to the ground fighter MacDonald, complete domination?
He won't manhandle Okami like he did MacDonald.
Okami is a stronger guy and a better wrestler than MacD. And bigger too, even though MacD is not the smallest MW himself.
But Rich COULD dominate Okami by just keeping it on the feet and picking Okami apart. I don't think Okami should be the counter-guy in this fight, because Rich is good at moving in and out and landing shots over and over.
I think Okami should push the pace, throw punches, eventually clinch and try to take Rich down.
I think that's almost exactly what you're going to see; Franklin picking Okami apart. I don't think we're going to see Rich on his back in this fight unless Okami is a whole lot better than I think he is.

I think the biggest difference between the two is probably strength. I think that MacDonald is in extremely good shape and very fit. He is a large 185 pounds as far as frame and height, but I think that Okami is probably a bit stronger than MacDonald. I didnt bet on this fight because I dont know how Franklin will react to his strength. He had trouble with Anderson Silva in the clinch because it was a lot stronger than he anticipated. I dont think Franklin will push Okami around like he did MacDonald. I think this fight might go a lot like the Franklin / Louisau fight.
Rich could end up on the ground here. I can't see Rich's take down defense being much better than Swick's, but he is stronger than Swick so that will make it easier for him to work his TD defense. Still, Swick got taken down so many times... Rich has to get taken down at least once.
As far as comparing Okami to MacD, well, the way I see it it's hard to compare MacD to anybody. He's a very unorthodox fighter. His stance, his striking, his take downs, they are all strange. When he gets the take down it seems like the fight just ends up on the ground rather than him executing a double leg or something. And he's tall and lanky, with a huge reach for his weight class. I don't think anything in the Rich v MacD fight can indicate or elude to what'll go down between Okami and Rich.

I do think that McDonald is smaller than Franklin, and Franklin is smaller than Okami, frame wise, and somewhat strengthwise also - comparing just the 3.
