Default Will The UFC Insert A Fight Night In Between UFC 73 & 74?

When I looked at the upcoming fight schedule I saw a HUGE gap in time between the two UFC events. There are seven weeks between UFC 73 on July 7 and UFC 74 on August 25. With the significant surge of interest in the UFC in recent months and increasing demand for more events, will the UFC allow this much downtime without a fight?

The new influx of talent from PRIDE as well as more new signings every month suggests that UFC has plenty of great fighters to insert into a fight night during this interim period. A number of talented fighters haven't been scheduled yet, such as Shogun Rua, Brandon Vera, Justin McCully, and Kampmann or Corey Hill should be healed up by then. Any thoughts?

Would be a great idea to have a UFN between 73 and 74 especially with Corey Hill on the card. I hope Dana makes it happen.

Ya the downtime is kinda big, but im sure something will be inserted to fill it, i can't imagine with as big as UFC and mma in general is now that they will do nothing, but who knows.

With such a large gap, no doubt they'll throw a ufn in there sometime.

I hope that there will be one, but considering there is 3 events in June they might not put anything between those two PPV.

But seven whole weeks?!! I might have to start taking heroin, eat a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts every day, or discover some similarly addicting pursuit to replace the UFC withdrawls that I'd be experiencing.

I think they will include a UFN inbetween 73 and 74, a 7 week layoff is too much and they always use the UFN to hype up the next PPV.
