As UFCjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, MMA news, UFC rumors, UFC gossip, fighter interviews and event previews and recaps - UFCjunkie.com) first reported over the weekend, a recently created UFC Fight Night event will take place in September. And more specifically, we now know that UFC Fight Night 11 is set for Thursday, Sept. 20.
The live Spike TV event will work as a lead-in for the debut episode of The Ultimate Fighter 6, a welterweights-only season of the reality series that will feature current UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and former champ Matt Hughes as coaches.
Over the weekend, UFCjunkie.com reported that the night’s main event may feature The Ultimate Fighter 1‘s Mike Swick (10-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Chris Leben (16-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC). Leben defeated Swick in a WEC event prior to the filming of The Ultimate Fighter 1, and Swick felt disrespected by Leben’s constant discussions of the fight. Their rematch essentially has been three-year-and-a-half years in the making.
Both fighters are coming off loses: Swick to Yushin Okami at UFC 69, and Leben to Kalib Starnes at UFC 71.
Additionally, American Tom Top Team’s veteran fighter Din Thomas (20-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC) will take on Spencer Fisher (20-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) at the event, according to The Fight Network.
UFC Fight Night 11 will take place at The Palms Las Vegas and is expected to air at 8 p.m.

I can't wait to see Din Thomas vs Spencer Fisher. Should be a tough fight for both of them. I don't know who to pick. Thomas could either win via submission, or Spencer could use his striking to take the win. Could be a real battle.

about the leben/louiseau debate
id rather the UFC keep everyone than get rid of fighters, but as much as i hate it i agree that leben has been involved in more exciting fights that get finished as opposed to decisions...btw..which doesnt matter to me, but it seems to matter to alot of posters so..thats why DL is gone and CL is here
hopefully DL will be back though, i miss his good fights
as far as Leben being headliner, HELL NAH, i see it as on the merit of mike swick alone

I don’t like the attitude of some of the fans who always like to complain. When they say if you had a quick fight that they wished it was longer and if you have a long fight they say you should have beaten this guy quicker. Some people you just can’t please. If it is so easy, they can put on a glove and do it themselves. I’ll watch them fight.
