How Frank Trigg will return to the UFC
Here's my theory I came up with while browsing people's records on Sherdog...
Trigg beats Dennis Hallman 2x
Dennis Hallman has beaten Matt Hughes 2x
Hughes has beaten Trigg 2x
So apparently the "I beat the guy that beat that guy so I can beat that guy" theory is debunked.
Anyway, Hallman is fighting again in the UFC starting at 55. He'll beat Jorge Rivera. Now Dennis Hallman is on the rise, gets another victory.
*Now, here is where GSP messes up my equation. For right now we'll pretend he doesn't exist but this theory can still work weather or not there are title shots involved.*
With Dennis Hallman on the rise, Zuffa has another good revenge story for Matt Hughes a la Chuck and Horn. So Matt wants redemption and Dennis wants the belt. (*see above note on GSP)
Now, Dennis Hallman is a great fighter and I have no reason to believe he can't beat Hughes a third time. Here's where we branch into two possible outcomes. Dennis wins or Dennis loses....
Dennis wins : Now we have a new champ (*or #1 contender) and someone that Zuffa has built up with thier story line so they have something invested in this guy and the attention will no doubt gain him some more fans. This sets up beautifully for another easy storyline of redemption for Hallman against the mean former UFC fighter Frank Trigg, and the crowd boo's....
Dennis loses to Hughes : With some time invested in Hallman and the fact that he could only lose to GSP or Hughes in the current WW division, the above scenario of him winning could still happen because Dennis by this time will still be a draw because of the time Zuffa spent hyping him with the Hughes fight.
Anywho, just thought this up. Any comments on how I'm insane are more than welcome. Also, how do you guys think Hallman will do now in the UFC?
(Also, I understand his victories against Hughes were awhile ago and him vs Hughes would be a different fight. Like I said though, he's done it twice. One win is impressive enough but two wins is ownage)

i don't see Trigg coming back to the UFC anytime soon. he had his shot and now there is alot of up and coming guys that the UFC would rather showcase. there are plenty of other places Trigg can fight, maybe even Pride.

Drumz you forgot to mention that Dennis has only spent less than 2 minutes fighting Hughes and has two wins over him. That is complete domination. But as you said, not saying that will happen again but just think if he would come back and beat him a third time. He would go from practically unknown to star status over night, I gurantee it. I was surprised that Trigg beats the ever loving crap out of him a couple times then comes and gets whooped by Hughes and GSP. Not that it is a big deal to lose to either guy, just the way he was so impressive then he became a different fighter. Dennis is a very unpredictable fighter though. Sometimes he looks like a champ sometimes he doesn't. I am excited to see him go against Jorge though. That is going to be a tough fight. Then again, if Karo pulls off a win, none of this will matter and they can just run a Hughes vs. GSP then the winner of that vs. Karo.

I hope Trigg doesn't return to the UFC. He should go to KOTC or something that I don't watch.

I'm pretty sure Frank was on some type of reality show. Ppl were accusing him of worrying about promoting his clothing line and not fighting.

Trigg is one of the best welterweights out there and I think he's going to dominate wherever he fights next (Rumble on the ROck, KOTC or Pride). But I think after a bunch of wins there we'll see him in the UFC again.

I actually like watching trigg fight( b 4 the RNC thing got out of hand).
He is a good fighter and his last few losses were to the #1 guy and the #2 guy. I think he should have be given a shot to prove he could be #3.
I think the way he lost those fights signed his fate int he UFC more then the actual loss.

how many times has Trigg lost by RNC? 3 is'nt it. the funny part is that its not really that easy to get someone with a RNC when you have gloves on. its pretty easy to defend, well, at least Bas Rutten says so.
