The thing that pisses me off is that this is not even being noticed by most people, and those who did notice the racist comment will forget about it within a few days. Its over looked when its done to whites; but if a white person said something about a black person being dumb and lazy or unable to keep a job or stay out of jail there would be public hanging.

With all due respect to Rippen and company and the argument that "Most don't notice"....
For several decades in America, African Americans in this country didnt have the certain luxuries of comfort. One of those comforts not afforded to them was the comfort of freedom of speech. African Americans back in the old times of this country? If they raised issues verbally?

Because certain groups, sorry "Caucasions" my ancestors, kidnapped them from Africa to enslave them here.
They were not given the nice-ities we now all enjoy.
Nor did African Americans have the luxury of feeling "Offended" as so many groups today including caucasians (myself being one) love to engage in. Their feeling offended was death. Death by lynching and hanging. By at the hands of no other than???

Anyway. I think one or two of them (no matter how misguided), have earned the right to say whatever they want to against whites.

Lincoln shouldve torched every farm, land, plantation, person and killed anyone that took slaves in. He shouldve publicly displayed the burning of the REBEL flag as a sign as to what happens to those that oppose the United Governence.
But that's just me.

My opinion ? I'm a white male 25-30 and this is nothing new at all. Kos is (like I said) a coward who KNOWS he is not at the same level as GSP and Hughes. What he needs to learn (and most blacks) is you can't have it both ways forever. One day you act upset when your treated different and the next upset when your treated the same, Kos thinks by saying he is half this or that it makes up for his racist comment (his very DIRECT racist comment) on the other side he wants to be treated like everyone else of what ever ethnic creation.

Lincoln had slaves and so did the majority of people in the north. Your showing your ignorance on the subject by saying that. Also, Lincoln was looking into removing a majority of Africans in the states, he was gonna ship them back to where ever the SPANISH slave traders got them.
Majority of the north did NOT want Lincoln to use "slavery" as a reason in the all ready started war. Infact he didn't use it till after the war started, WHICH by the way was after the south had begun freeing slaves and giving them land, which is something the north never did even after the war.
Do your self a favor and research a bit on the subject. Comments like yours does nothing but promote ignorance among youngsters.
and in my opinion the Confederate Flag is a symbol of the pride and love for ones country. Its funny you act that way towards a symbol like that when the American flag is used and burned as a symbol of everything that is wrong in the world. Just the fact that this thread has gone this way tells you a lot about us Americans. I think Kos said something stupid. It wasn't racist. It was a steriotype. In America the general perception is that a white guy who is athletic is the exception NOT the norm. It is my personal opinion that the people who are outraged by his comments are infact the true racists. He ptobably says it all the time even more so becuase he is mixed, but its one of those things your not supposed to say in a public forum. He was stupid that's all. And to say he can be racist is really dumb. If you want to claim racism by Kos is got to be against blacks because he continues to surround himself with white people. He has a white girlfriend,, gravitates towardf the white side of his family, and I bet most of his training partners are white. I don't think there is anything wrong with his choices except maybe his choice of words. He probably thought he was making a funny joke since he is infact white also. I think that's the point we are missing. A white guy using a white stereotype to make fun of a white guy. Classic imo

I don't feel like going into a whole debate on race and history, but saying that blacks have a "right" to say what they want about whites is completely stupid. Are we not all equal? Think about that. No race owes another a single thing.

Ridiculous defense of what was an ignorant comment by Koscheck. All things aside, he should have the common sense not to say something like that during an interview. I think Koscheck can be summed up by the quote "I am a educated". The most obvious alternative to his defense would be to simply apologize. It's always going to be better to accept responsibility and admit you made a mistake than to back peddle- seeing if you can go ahead and swallow that foot in your mouth up to the knee.
Koscheck's idiocy notwithstanding, the discussion here is out of hand. I agree with some points that I won't get into, but wow. Sometimes it is best not to discuss your opinions, other people might begin to think you are a moron.

Nail on the head. I'm no fan of Kos, but this whole Kos is a racist bit is a load of crap. Since I could almost guarantee I am one of the few people here who has the unique prespective that Kos has (I am half white and half black), his statement on his comment is perfectly logical. It isn't like saying, "I have a lot of black friends". He is white. He is black. I fail to see how he can be racist to either. To say that one could be racist to his own race is quite a perplexing comment. It's why Clayton Bigsby is so ridiculous and funny. If you don't know what I'm talking about, have a look.
When you are truly part of no one race, you tend to not see people in terms of race. I doubt he even identifies himself as black or white. I know I don't. It all seems like a joke taken the wrong way by people who always want to accuse someone of being racist. Asronn is totally right on his comments.
