It was good enough for Muhammed Ali, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, etc, was it not? Tiger Woods and Roger Federer don't seem to need the spectacle entering their respective venues. Champion teams enter their buildings and stadiums to light shows and rock songs the same as Randy did last Saturday, but no more. World champions all who let their talent show their worth more than a fancy fireworks show.
For me, its all about the sport. Its two guys entering the ring/cage to battle it out and find out who is the better fighter on that night. If the guys want to come out in masks/costumes/outfits (for instance GSP) to show their own personal individualism, that's cool. But I don't need the promotion itself to go crazy with the constant pyrotechnics and stage production. If I want that, I'll tune into RAW on Monday nights and watch it.
Once again, its just my opinion. I watch MMA and boxing for the sport, not the show.
