I think the reason that Fedor hasnt signed is because he insists that he be allowed to participate in the Sambo Tourneyment in Russia. Dana White has said that he won't allow that if Fedor is under contract due to the possibility of injury.
I think that Fedor is holding out until the Sambo tourney is over and then he will sign with the UFC shortly after.

Let's hope so. I highly doubt the reason is because he is scared of the UFC as some seem to imply.

Well look at it from Dana's point of view , it is a big risk for him, if he signs Fedor, and he gets injured , to the point where he cannot compete in UFC , Dana looses money for obvious reasons!
I was thinking maybe Dana should sign 6-10 month contracts with him , to avoid him getting injured for fights that are scheduled around the Sambo tournament dates, but theres a downfall to that , Dana would want Fedor completely signed up with Fedor, if Fedor becomes a free agent every 6-10months , that could be opportunities for other organizations.

I believe Bas to be correct. I have studied into Mixed Martial Arts recently and found Randy has proven strong and had excessive Chi training recently upon his come back. Fedor is mentally strong and tough but not tough enough to beat Chi.

Mark my words, Fedor will not sign!

That "coward" statement looked extreme. Possibly bashing on the fighter?
Anyway, I think that Fedor Emelianenko might have seen the way that some PRIDE fighters have had problems in the UFC. I don't think that Fedor has any communist connections, LOL. But, he did not need to be a communist to feel a sense of patriotism. Right now, he's widely recognized as the number one heavyweight fighter in the world. So, that's good for Russia. And, it's good for business (as Fedor's paychecks from Calvin Aire has shown).
I think that Fedor might want to stay in a ring. That's where he has always fought. The cage or octagon just might not be worth it for Fedor. It's not about being a coward.

Possibly. I think that money has a lot to do with this as well. Fedor Emelianenko plans on a life after MMA. Also, Fedor has a brother, Aleksander, that he might want to follow him into the UFC on a big, fat UFC contract. But, Fedor Emelianenko had military experience in Russia. I bet that they do have deep patriotic feelings.
But, I think that Fedor could sign with the UFC, if the money and the stipulations look right for Fedor (and possibly for Aleksander).

Lets not combine the 2 please.....

I can agree with you there. Politics sucks. I bet it has some influence on some MMA sometimes. But, it works both ways. I mean, how can we be mad at Fedor for being a Russian patriot, when the UFC has held an event or two at a US military base (like last December, when Diego Sanchez KO'd Joe Riggs). And, the UFC had a USA versus Canada event. Those look highly patriotic to the Europeans and the Russians. So, I guess politics can slip in from time to time.

I like how he talked about the money paid to fighters and totally agree with him. I say let the endorsements pay fighters.

This thread should be closed as it is getting out of hand. First Fedors a commy, then a coward and now he is a little bitch? He is the number # 1 HW in the world he deserves respect that people arn't giving him. I don't care if people think Randy can win but things are just getting out of hand here.

As long as I don`t have to listen to a big crowd screaming: USA, USA USA!!!!,
when Randy fights Fedor I`ll be happy. If it turns into something like that I think I`m gonna stop watching this game regardles to who wins, cus it is really not about that.
This is what I love about Japan, they stayed so neutral. They ofcourse loved theire own guys from Japan but in a nice manner and never by booing his opponent and then screaming Japan, Japan!!!

Bas Rutten mentioned the UFC an awful lot for someone who works for a rival fight organization (IFL).
What's up with that?
