Default Sherk Passes Lie Detector Test, Other UFC News

According to UFCDaily.com, Sherk passed a lie detector test about his steroids situation. Personally I don't know how accurate they are, but I have heard something like 90% or more of time they are correct...so take it for what its worth. Also the article mentions that the UFC is looking to hold an event in Hawaii in 2008 and Hendo plans at staying at 205 lbs.

Sean Sherk passed a lie detector test saying that he did not knowingly use steroids. While certainly not conclusive, it can’t hurt his chances at getting his suspension over turned or at the very least reduced

This is good news. I've always really liked Sherk and his work habits and him fighting BJ is a lot better title fight than BJ vs. Stevenson. I hope everything works out for Sherk.

Lie detectors don't prove a whole lot. They can be fooled in a number of ways and they aren't usable in court in Canada. For example, subjects can do something as simple as putting a thumb tack in their shoe and pricking themselves every time they are asked a question. The only empirical way to test him for steroids was already done and he failed, I fail to see where he can argue.

Lie detectors tests dont detect lies, they detect if the person believes what they are saying or not, which is a big difference.

Actually, I wouldn't even give the tests THAT much credit. They're totally unreliable. All they really show is that the person answering the questions may or may not have gotten nervous while answering a specific question.

I would be. My minor in University is psych and we are taught that lie detectors are insufficient to use as any kind of evidence.
