Default Mirko Cro Cop wants to return in early 2008 and prove doubters wrong

Quote:
“I will change something in training methods … There are many people who doubt me, but I am motivated to show them that they are wrong. I want to [get bigger]. In fights against Gonzaga and Kongo I saw that this is necessary because against heavier fighters I am losing a lot power in clinch. We will do it step by step so I will not lose on my speed. I would like to fight against Minotauro. Because of the septum deviation I was losing power in the middle and at the end of fights, but now I will not have that problem and I will prepare with pleasure for my future fights.”

– Mirko Cro Cop talks about his desire to return to the Octagon with Vecernji.com despite uncharacteristic back-to-back losses in his most recent fights. The Croatian recently underwent surgery to repair a badly deviated septum, which apparently affected his cardio in recent bouts. There’s a European card that is penciled in for sometime in January 2008 that could be a possible event in which he competes.

YES, but please don't let the same thing happen that happened last time. He said he would come back stronger, but look what happened. I do think he can do it though. Could '08 be the year of comebacks?

i don't have a desire to watch him fight anymore.
when gonzaga beat him it was clear that crocop didn't train hard enough. he even said him self that he took gonzaga lightly.
there is no room for a slacker at the top.

He will be back, like I have said many times the CC we've seen in the UFC is nowhere near the CC that won the OWGP. Everyone seems to have given up on him but as my favourite fighter of all time I will never stop believing!

If he comes back stronger and get some high profile wins, his marketability will be revived. With the Randy gone, not only do they need more contenders in the HW division, but there needs to be a marketable champion.

God, if he ever gets that belt again he will be fighting with one hand while the other is squeezing his belt, giving it kisses every now and then as he jumps in with a jab then circles for the next 4:58 seconds.

I think that the next time we see Cro Cop, he will be an entirely different fighter and one that doesnt look gassed out in the second round. Ive had a deviated septum and saying that it will make you lose stamina and wind is an understatement. If his septum was as bad as its been stated to have been, then he literally couldnt have breathed in enough to keep up with his body's oxygen demands.

I cant wait to see him back in action.

I think that if Crocop comes back and kicks everyone's ass like he used to in PRIDE. I think Randy would come back to fight him.

OMG the world must be close to the end...

I agree!

I keep my signature as it is because I am trying to keep the faith that Cro-Cop will come back and regain his lost glory.

All things considered he has to feel motivated now. The UFC HW title does not seem so far anymore.

I guess Mirko has all the motivations in the world this time..

I'm sure he's gonna come back strong and rise!!

Only thing that makes worried a little bit is, I have a strong feeling that his coming fight will be against Andrie Arlovski..

All of the others are booked already.. Sylvia, Vera, Kongo, Nog.. I don't think UFC will do CC-GG II.. So that leaves AA or Frank Mir.. But I'm sure UFC prefers to give Mirko a striker at this time..

I like both of them a lot.. But I guess I'll be taking AA's side on this one..

I want to believe that he is just having a hard time adjusting to fighting in UFC, and in the octogon. This is the same guy who won the OWGP in PRIDE last year, so maybe he isn't done. One loss via KO, followed by a decision in a lackluster fight. You can bounce back from that. I'm pulling for Cro Cop. If he returns to his old, dominant self, it will help in the recovery of losing Couture, and the bidding war they lost on Fedor. YOU CAN DO IT MIRKO!

He can definitely come back.
I liked Bas comment on the issue over how hard it is to come back from a knock out. We have gotten that proved now from both Chuck and Cro Cop.
I hope he is fully recovered from his battle against Gonzaga and ready to go now.

I guess its all in the head.

The UFC certainly needs him now. So much criticism, so much crap said about him. And now he finds himself in the position of being the most exciting thing in the HW division again. Funny how things happen.

Same way I feel.. Last time he lost it really sucked, not as much because he actually lost but because it appeared he didin't care to fight anymore.. Its getting harder and harder to defend him to some of the noob's that Iam around so I hope he comes into his next fight like a mad man and destroys guys like we know he can!

If he Is on his game He can beat anyone In the Heavyweight division , and thats a sad statement considering how he has preformed his first 3 UFC fights. Any other fighter that would give 3 lame fights like he did would not even be Invited to fight again but Crocop's past fights Is why he still has a large fan base that will still demand him to fight until he walks away from the MMA game. He has told the press before he Is getting old , didn't take someone serious , lack of training we have heard the excuses so when he says he wants to come back to show the doubters wrong I hope he means that because If he does and he trains his tail off no one Is safe In the UFC .
