Could Randy pull a Junior Seau and retire from the UFC then go fight Fedor?

I think this is the best way. A champ needs to be crowned as soon as possible.

No, he cannot. He has two fights left on his current contract. The UFC will take him to court and hold him there for years, if Couture tried to illegally cicumvent his contract.

Sylvia no longer a lock to fight Big Nog for title

“Cheick Kongo, who defeated Mirko CroCop in September, is most likely next [for Tim Sylvia], though the possibility of a bout with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira also exists.”

– Kevin Iole at Yahoo!Sports.com backpedals on a report prior to UFC 77 that the winner of the bout between Tim Sylvia and Brandon Vera would face Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira for the vacant heavyweight title sometime in early 2008. “The Maine-iac” earned a unanimous decision win over “The Truth” this past weekend at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Wow, I never thought I would say this, but I would rather see Kongo fight for the title than Tim Sylvia!

Kongo-Sylvia fight will be a stand-up war! None will want to go to the ground!

I pick Kongo for the W! He proved his game has really improved.. But despite Tim's punching power.. Kongo can do it!!

It'll be Kongo-Nog for the title..

This will depends entirely on how prepared Kongo for the ground game! If he can prevent take downs.. Or survive wicked BJJ attempts.. He may have a shot!

Great find Doctor C . I too think Kongo will win against Sylvia. Kongo will not only strike better, but he will use his kicks to distract Tim from doing imo. Hope they confirm it, cause this fight has a lot of potential.
People might say Tims overated, but Kongo is definitley underated and will prove he is a top ufc HW.
