Dana White said that Randy Couture is the best heavyweight MMA fighter. When he said that "Fedor sucks" Dana White was trying to say that Randy Couture is the champion and the best. I think that the "Fedor sucks" comment was designed as a message to Randy Couture that the UFC wants him, respects him, and will fight for him to stay and fight in the UFC. And, it was a jab at Fedor for letting his manager screw up the best MMA contract offer in MMA history and the best MMA match in history to determine the undisputed HW champion (between the UFC and PRIDE Fighting).

Dana White is the UFC president, not the commissioner of MMA. He is allowed to have his own opinions. And, people would just bitch at Dana White if he did not say a fight was boring when it WAS boring. It's a bunch of BS. Dana White is allowed to think what he wants.

Nothing wrong with him saying his own opinion. People respect not being BSed. I hate PC talk. Dana is refreshing. You don't want to hear your boss say your fight was boring and you can bet that AA won't let it happen again.

Agree with you. No need for Dana to be the one judging the fighters.
He kind of ends up with having to many characters in one and same act.

When that is said I would like to add that it takes two people to tango.
Werdum was doing more or less nada to fight back and was even siting down trying to force the match to the ground. What do you guys want AA to do?
Jump after him? Most strikers do not do that. Specially when the guy laying there is a one of the best BJJ guys out there. Some matches turns int to chessgames like this one. For me that is more exciting then a brawl.

To be fair to Dana White, Werdum's name was not a part of the question that was asked. White was asked about Andre Arlovski. Also, AA himself stated that the fight was boring and not what he wanted to give to the fans in his post-match interview in the octagon. I just don't understand people when it comes to Dana White. He seems damned if does and damned if he doesn't. He said it best every time he mentioned the Internet idiots and that there's no pleasing them.

That's because Fedor just signed a contract with M-1 that his ignorant manager set up. Randy Couture, however, is under contract with the UFC. Of course Dana White is going to talk up Couture and talk down Fedor. At the moment, Fedor is not the top HW in the world. People are relying on nostalgia and events prior to August 2005 to keep Fedor at the top.

Offering Fedor a huge contract, apparently, was not enough to get Fedor to fight the top HW competition. The reason that Fedor was offered so much had more to do with Fedor being the PRIDE Fighting world HW champion and an undefeated champion. Offer Fedor small change, and he won.t sign. Offer Fedor BIG money and he won't sign either.

Fedor Emelianenko is not the best anymore. Randy Couture is the best HW champion right now. Fedor is avoiding fighting the best. Either that, or his manager is trying to protect Fedor. And, Fedor is hiding behind his manager. I am left assuming the Fedor is afriad to lose in the octagon.

im just saying that a media press conference isnt the time to say things like that

i guess it is just his opinion that he bitchslapped coutures manager

its one thing to say that kinda stuff on TUF, at the negotiating table, or during promos but when you are trying to present a product to new audiences it is of my personal opinion that you dont state that a fight "sucks"

it is refreshing to see an unbridled persona such as Dana's, just not in the role of the UFC figurehead and President

I don't agree. But, we should also consider that Dana White might be trying to call out Fedor to come and prove that he's the best of the best. After all, Fedor's M-1 contract does not have an exclusivity clause. He is supposedly allowed to fight in other promotions while under contract to M-1. Maybe Dana wants to provoke Fedor inot signing a single fight deal just to fight Couture. I think that the challenge is out there. But, I suspect Fedor will ignore it or fail to accept it. After all, he has important Sambo events to attend.

Gonzaga only has TWO MMA-fights more than Mark Hunt.
Hunt also has wins over Wandy and... who was that again, oh yeah, Cro Cop.

Randy is not the #2 heavyweight in the world after Fedor.
There's no way he's earned that ranking.
He has two consecutive wins. He got a title shot after getting KTFO (twice) at a lower weight.
His last 4 fights at heavyweight: 2 wins and 2 losses where he was finished.
