FightMetric analysis of Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping at UFC 78
Read Full Article
After the controversy of Hamill-Bisping and the unsatisfying result of Evans-Ortiz, the second-to-last thing either Rashad Evans or Michael Bisping needed was another decision. The last thing they needed was a split decision. Unfortunately, that's what they both got.
In a lackadaisical fight that saw Evans visibly tire and Bisping refrain from pressing the action, the fight produced the strange sensation that a draw would have been the most satisfying conclusion of all. Still, Evans took home the split decision victory and handed Bisping his first professional loss.
FightMetric tracked this fight in detail. Here are the results:

Thanks for posting! I think these Fightmetric stats are very useful for analysing close fights like this. If I remember correctly, Fightmetric scored the Hamill/Bisping fight to Bisping.

Very timely. There's nothing I've seen to compare to a Fight Metric analysis. It's dead on, and solidly backed up. Anyone who hasn't seen the other fights these guys have analyzed with Fight Metric should have a look. Great stuff.

man ive seen about 10 different fight analyses and they arent anywhere near consistent, whatever result you wanted just take your pick of these things, youll find one that fits your interpretation of the fight
and a fight metric that claims bisping beat hamill is not one id like to put my faith in
it is interesting however, i feel like i can use it to educate myself to MMA matches more, regardless of whether i agree or not
i likeit, i hope they do large portion of fights, i like the analyses and conclusions/implications they used at the end

Again thought, these stats don't include Take Down Defense, which is Octagon control isn't it? I could'nt see it anyway, but yeah they talked about it when they reviewed the rounds, but that wouldn't of counted in the scores.
