Default MMA Madness Q&A: One-on-one with Georges St. Pierre

MMA Madness writer Ben Zeidler caught up with former UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre last week, discussing everything from the Matt Serra loss to the upcoming UFC 79 fight with Matt Hughes.

MMA Madness: Can you tell us a little bit about the Serra fight and what happened?

St. Pierre: You know, it was a great learning experience. I didn’t realize it when he hit me and next thing I knew, he was on top of me and it was over.

MMA Madness: Was he what you prepared for?

St. Pierre: I don’t want to make any excuses. I made many mistakes coming into the fight but the real reason I lost is because Matt fought the better fight.

MMA Madness: How would you fight him differently next time?

Very good interview, as you see GSP has 0 excuses for the loss to Serra, and has said he's in great shape so will have 0 excuses IF he losses to hughes, he seems very confident and sounds like he's training better then ever !
I can't wait to see GSP tear apart Hughes yet agien. He will be the first fighter to beat hughes twice correct?

Nope. Dennis Hallman.

And Hughes has zero wins over him, so clearly Hallman>GSP.

^Yes and BJ Penn will be the next to beat Hughes twice

*Waits for Opsy and the Matt Hughe entourage*

Its all right Gooner. If you can't beat em join em, I guess.

I don’t like the attitude of some of the fans who always like to complain. When they say if you had a quick fight that they wished it was longer and if you have a long fight they say you should have beaten this guy quicker. Some people you just can’t please. If it is so easy, they can put on a glove and do it themselves. I’ll watch them fight.
