Back to the topic, I really wish they'd bring AA back. Its completely not fair to hold a fighter when he has that much talent. I hope he goes to M-1 to atleast get the respect he deserves.

I can see the other side of the things, but I just can't side with it.
Why would the UFC pay a fighter of his caliber big money if he refuses to fight to his full potential?
AA has a whole marketing team behind him. If you look at old events, You can almost tell when the old AA ended and the new "Hollywood" AA began.
Look at how hungry the TUF guys were last night. Those guys gave it their all.
I feel that AA is more worried about his image and marketing rather than his fighting, and he's not as hungry as he once was.

I understand and respect Andrei, but can anyone seriously sit here and say that he's shown anybody anything in his last few UFC fights?
His fight with Werdum was arguable THE WORST UFC or MMA fight in the last 5 years.
If you're the UFC why would you be jumping up and down to renegotiate his contract when you have much bigger fish now in the HW pool vs an inconsistent former great UFC HW champ that hasnt shown you anything lately? And his comment that he wasnt ready for a jiu jitsu match doesent wash with me in modern day MMA.
I like Andrei and think he could give a few of these pride ex HW guys problems. I'm just sayin he hasn't shown anyone anything lately.

There you go taking it personally again. I never claimed to know everything. I simply stated my opinion. Don't worry though Mouth, the sun will still come up and life will go on. I promise you.

You make some great point's Pit. Your're right that the younger guys are more hungry and it showed. Not sticking up for Arlovski but, do you think his experience plays a factor for not going all out? I think it's a little of both. You got the old killar Arlovski and soon as he got knocked out by Tim, he changed his game, so he won't get KO like that again. I'm starting to see fighters change for the good and the bad. Imo some fighters stlyes reflects on past their experiences. Unfortunially (< where BCguy the spell checker when you need him) Arlovski lost that agressive edge that made me a fan of his.

Yeah, I hear ya MWM. He does seem to have lost that edge.
I think that 2nd Tim Sylvia fight to the warrior's spirit out of him.

Please, no one cares to read through a squabble. Talk about AA or move on.

It certainly took the aggression out of him. He fights tentatively now, like he's afraid of getting knocked out.

it has nothing to do with AA being exciting or worth rehiring or resigning him... its about them putting him on the shelf and waiting out his contract so he cant fight esle where... they are ****ing his career! the ufc is filled with some of the worst people on the plant. I thought walmart was greedy but **** zuffa and anyone that supports what they are doing to people.

AA signed the contract. He is a big boy. No one held a gun to his head. Zuffa is a business above all else. If you don't like the contract, don't sign it.

That's called "insecurity".
BTW, I disagree that Arlovski has a glass jaw. Sylvia is a massive guy with a ton of power. Even if you had an iron jaw, a great shot to the chin from Sylvia will put you to sleep.

I really dislike this whole "If you don't like the contract, don't sign it" ignorant BS. Times change, and all contracts are negotiable from either side at any time. It's quite clear that Arlovski wants to re-negotiate to a contract worth more, yet Zuffa/Dana don't want to pay him that much, and thus leads to why Arlovski is unhappy. It's also quite clear that Arlovski knows he signed a contract, and is more than willing to fulfill all that is required of him within that contract.

Krav, I totally agree. Maybe UFC should bring in the Pride Rules "Yellow Card" which results in a 10% purse reduction for the fighter who gets flagged.

I agree, but understand its entertainment as well. They wouldn't have a purse if it wasn't for the fans at all. Not to sound rude but, if I wanted to see a long un-interupped fight, I go down to my dojo.

Right, AA is fulfilling his contract. He is man enough to finish the job under the restrictions he accepted. He isn't going to whine about it. That's the difference in living up to your word and not holding to your word. AA is a man of integrity at least.

Unfortunately I have to agree, he goes down when he takes a big shot.
I hate to say that because I was such a big fan of Arlovski a few years ago when he was wrecking people but I don't see him lasting long with the elite, especially the ones that can hit hard.
