Liddell-V-Couture III in February
It looks likes theres plans a-foot for the rubber match to take place in February. Was just reading an interview that Chuck gave on a recent visit to the UK. ******************************************************
Ally: While we’re on the subject of
your fight with Randy Couture, there
has been rumors going around that
you two will meet again in February.
Is there any truth to this?
Chuck: Yeah. We’ll be fighting each
other again in February. Well, that
depends on things like injuries and stuff
but if all goes well then we will meet
again in February.

It's in Issue 1 of Total MMA. U can sign up and get a copy at their website:
http://www.total-mma.com/
It's a good read, especially for UK fans of MMA. It also confirmed that TUF 2 will be starting on Bravo in November

Great link mrmojoreilly, thanks. It's good to have somewhere that gives UK TV listings of MMA stuff.
Good news that TUF2 is on in November too

Yeah very handy alright.
I can't see Randy giving Chuck many problems. He looked slow&tired during the van arsdale fight
It may even be his final fight - win or lose
Sorry that's PURE SPECULATION on my behalf

I agree. Chucks confidence is thru the roof, and hell be swinging for the fences. Could Captain Americas only KO losses come to the Iceman?

Glad you lot enjoyed my interview with Chuck
On the subject, I think Chuck would defeat Couture again. Maybe not easily but there would deffinatley be a knockout involved.

It's a really good newsletter, hope you guys keep it up. Got it today, still reading it!
(Obhiously went straight to the Chuck interview )
So did you get to meet him in person or was it a phone interview?

It was an over the phone interview. Chuck was really nice and down to earth. He didn't hold back either and told everything as he saw it.
I was actually supposed to be interviewing Dana White aswell on the same day but he got caught up with Bravo officials apparently.

Don't know much about Jorge Gurgel yet, i know he's part of the TUF 2 cast but i've been avoiding the forums as I don't want to spoil the show, also read in the newsletter that it's starting on Bravo in November.
Great to see that you guys are getting such good media coverage from the UFC!

The tentative plans are for next month's issue (being released in early November) to be a "Ultimate Fighter" special of sorts seeing as it roughly coincides with it starting to be shown in the UK. At the moment, we have some good names lined up as having agreed to talk to us regarding it. It will also feature full news and coverage from all other promotions as usual though. So if you are not interested in TUF or have seen it already then there will be still be plenty to read.
Glad that you are enjoying the first issue - spread the word! (but tell them to get it from us rather yourselves so we can keep track of who is reading it )
You can me your e-mail address if you want a copy or preferably send a mail to totalmmanewsletter@gmail.com detailing where you want it sent.

i can't say that i am all that interested in a Chuck vs. Randy III. i just watched 52 and blah...what a dissappointment. Chuck thumbs Randy in the eye and a few seconds later KTFO!!!! i hate when fights have any doubt about them. having said that i think Chuck would've won anyway. he just looked on while Randy seemed alittle slow with his strikes. i think a 3rd match between them will end the same. Chuck wins and Randy goes to Pride to fight with his friend Dan Henderson.

Actually, I think a third fight could go either way. Couture dominated Liddell in their first fight, Chuck caught him in the eye and then caught him with a great punch that knocked Randy out in the 2nd fight. Not to take anything away from Liddell, he is my favorite fighter for that reason. He can catch guys with one punch and they will go to sleep, to quote Joe Rogan. However, Randy has shown in his career that he can take a beating, and usually avoids a direct shot like that. Someone mentioned that his punching seemed slow in his last couple fights, I was watching some highlights of him the other day and he was never really had quick hands. Just smart and accurate punching. I dont think you can count him out just yet. IMO he "thinks" the match better than anyone in the UFC. He comes up with a game plan, sticks with it, and more often than not it works. Liddell is supposed to be a great wrestler, but when Randy took him down in the first fight, he looked completly lost.
I think it will be a much closer fight than the first two, however, I still think it could go either way.

Chuck is flat footed in the first fight, he is slow and lazy and gets dominated. in the rematch Chuck was quick and kept moving, Randy was getting caught everytime he went to move inside for the clinch. Chuck showed he is a great counter puncher, basically he listened to the words of the man who beat him. that he only had to make a few adjustments to beat me. Chuck did just that but also trained his ass off. i am not a Chuck fan really, but he is a far better striker than Randy. for Randy to win a 3rd match he's going to have to take Chuck down ASAP or risk getting KO'd again.

I want Chuck to win so that Randy will have a possible free passage to Pride and fight Mr. Silva?

I'm not saying that you are wrong, but here's some food for thought. Van Arsdale and Randy pre-dominantly grappled the whole match. Grapplin' takes a lot more gas than being on your feet and fighting. I've sparred 45 minutes straight before, on my feet, no problems...but it only took a few minutes of grappling to fatigue me to the point that my muscles were twitching and jumping all over the place...not to mention the strong urgency to barf. Randy might be slowing down, but I don't think that can be accurately assessed off of his fight with Van Arsdale; especially when Van Arsdale is an accomplished wrestler himself.

Randy made it a point to out wrestle van arsdale. he just wanted to prove he was better at that discipline. if randy would have tried to stand and clinch more he probably would have stopped him sooner. i think this thid fight will give us a good mix of the first two. i think (and hope) chuck will catch randy again. either way randy is the only guy that i dont mind seeing beat chuck.

I hope Randy takes it. I hope he then takes the Heavyweight belt. Then he can retire, or go fight in Pride, whatever he wants.

I honestly don't think Randy can take the HW belt from AA but he could possibly take the belt from the Iceman.

yeah I agree...I think Randy has the talent to beat AA but the size/reach differential would be too much to overcome...as seen in the past Randy struggles sometimes when a bigger opponent gets him down and gets on top of him(Barnett, Ricco), so he'd probably lose that way.
