Yeah, I was wondering as well..... His profile says he hasn't visited since 12/31. He usually has these rankings tallied up by now.

are we supposed to rank this based on who we think are the best fighters or who we think has actually earned the position?

what i mean by that is say hypothetically i think tito ortiz is actually a better fighter than lyoto machida, but i know that recently lyoto has probably earned a higher ranking through his results, which logic do i use?

Rankings should be based on who has earned the position rather than who we think is the better fighter.

That is how I personally do it, but some people rank by who they think would win if they fought. I have no problem w/ others ranking different ways b/c it creates a more diverse ranking system and when enough people vote it all levels out.....

While as champion, I completely understand those of you who rank Serra first, but I have a strong foundation for ranking him as low as 7th.

Let's look at the facts. Serra had a phenomenal win over GSP. What else has he done? A victory over Chris Lytle, who is 3-6 in the octagon? Serra has lost against all other premier opponents: Din Thomas, BJ Penn and Karo Parysian. And it is not as if he worked his way up a difficult ladder to face GSP. He won a gameshow. Prior to that he was a mediocre 7-4 fighter. That's why he was signed to TUF "The Comeback". It was a gimmick that paid off big time.

If it weren't for Serra's title, ranking him in the Top 10 would be considered generous. In a year's time, I'd be less surprised if he dropped fentirely out of the Top 10, than if he retained his title. I have nothing against the guy, I'll be rooting for him against GSP. I just believe that he is extremely overrated at this point.
