BJ is gonna set the pace in this fight, not Sherk.
Even if BJ were to gas (and the fight would go past 2 rounds), we'll have to wait and see if Sherk's cardio is as great if he takes a beating for the first 2 rounds.
Anyway, I don't see Sherk finishing BJ and even with the hope of BJ gassing he'll have a hard time winning 3 rounds to get a decision.

Sherk is relentless in his pursuit of the takedown. BJ is going to have to create some distance if he plans to win it standing. I am sure he'll make a mess of Sherk's face before the night is done, just like he did to GSP. If his cardio is good for 5 rounds, which it had better be, i see BJ winning by KO or stoppage. Otherwise Sherk will just keep plowing into him for 25 minutes and get a decision.

Not to pick you out but I hear this a lot. Franca gassed big time against Sherk and wasn't finished. This is Sean Sherk not Matt Hughes. There are big if's involved in any senario that has SS winning. If BJ gasses, and hasn't won any rounds before he does, then if SS can finish him....I see this ending like Sherks fight with GSP.

Going to be a tough fight to call, but I'm going to go with Sherk. Sherk conditioning and heart is unrivaled in that division, if not all of the UFC. I still think it will be tough for Sherk to actually finish BJ, but I think he'll have enough to get the job done; if not then unanimous decision coming Sherk's way

i see bj hurting sherk with some sharp strikes and either finishing it with his hands or getting a submission. however, even though bj does look like he's in the best shape of his life, if it goes into the 4th or 5th round i see sherk pulling out a decision. picking bj.

I have to go with Sherk on this one. I think he's going to OWN BJ Penn.

I'd say Penn.
He looked good vs joe, (except his cardio)
But I reckon he'll finish sherk early.

I have a question....
How does one go about discovering which fighter is "hungrier"? I think I read that in this thread a couple of times regarding Sherk.
That's a terrible argument.

Sherk should have kept his yapper shut about what BJ allegedly does. Guys on suspension for 'roids should STFU about a guy possibly smoking pot. I think BJ is going to be playing tapes of Sherk interviews and reading them for the next few months.
Every time Sherk has faced someone on the level of BJ Penn he has been beaten soundly (GSP, Hughes), I don't see any reason to think this pattern will be broken, especially with a motivated BJ.

BJ will have to up this cardio workout cause it will definately be a long night for him if he doesn't KO or submit Sherk in the early rounds.
Of course I will be behind BJ for this fight.

Careful when doing this to Sherk BJ, that would be a worse excuse than tampered suppliments....um mr. judge...it must have been in the blood of my opponent.....that I licked off my gloves....
