Negotiations to Sign Takanori Gomi Fall Through

FiveOuncesOfPain.com first became aware of the story when a source close to Frankie Edgar revealed that the lightweight contender had been offered and accepted a potential bout vs. Gomi. The fight fell through after the UFC was unable to secure a contract with PRIDE’s final reigning lightweight champion.
There is no word as to why a deal with Gomi was unable to be completed and whether there’s a chance that talks between both sides will resume in the future.

Wow, I would have loved to see Edgar vs. Gomi. Gomi in the UFC would be awesome, don't see it happening for a long time though.

Well..... if you believe the Fedor bashers this is only because Gomi is afraid to fight in the UFC and really doesn't want to fight Top Talent. 
Same for Hellboy Hansen, I guess.
Now let me make this crystal clear for those who are too thick to get it - I don't believe ANY of these three are afraid to fight anyone, anywhere, ever!!!
Not all fighters are so desperate they are willing to "knuckle under" to Dana and Co. and give away all their rights just to fight in the UFC,

Wow already had a falling out with K-1. Unless he wants to fight for World Victory Road who are yet unproven have yet to promote a show, or M-1 who have only copromoted until now and don't even have a solid stable of fighers, you guys are gonna be waiting a while to see Gomi again. Sad but true.

I've been agreeing with shred way too much lately. 
You're right - that's precisely how the UFC wants the fans to view the fighters who don't sign with them.
I hope Gomi signs with EliteXC so Nick can school him again.

What about EliteXC or Strikeforce? Actually, now that I think about it, does EliteXC even have a LW division yet?

Ya it has the 160 pound limit that Pride used to have. If the UFC fails to sign him he would probably fit in perfect there.

i dont think gomi could beat penn or sherk...
this has nothing to do with "dana"... so making that comment to start the thread already starts it off on a bad tone... if he wants to go to another org fine... im sure there are decent fights wherever he goes....
