Lindland's not coming to the UFC
The Law and The Lawsuit just don't see eye to eye.
Quote:
Lindland not headed to the UFC
Top middleweight Matt Lindland had been rumored to be coming back to the UFC. Lindland dispelled any chances of that occurring.
“Dana has made it clear they are not going to make me an offer to return to the UFC,” Lindland said.
While Lindland respects the fighters in the UFC, he feels he matches up very well against most of them.
“I feel there are a lot of good fighters in the UFC, and I feel like I could beat most of them,” Lindland said.

Shame.
This guy belongs in the big show, like him or not.
Especially as the MW division is most in need of enforcements.
I'm surprised his comments weren't more angry.
Guess we'll have to wait for those.

When I see him interviewed and asked questions about Dana White...it's almost as if he's trying very hard to be professional about it.
I've offered up Couture v. Dana in the past.
That still stands...but now I'd like to see Lindland v. Dana.

LOL. Believe me, if you said Lindland was in The UFC I'd be celebrating first.
As Darth Vader says
"THe Circle is now complete. When I met you, I was but a learner, now I am the master"
The UFC needs Lindland and Fedor to make that circle complete

He's a coach for the IFL...Team Quest. I'm pretty sure if you fight in the UFC, you can't have a good relationship with another organization...unless of course Dana needs someone to fill a fight card - then he'll be so kind as to make an exception.

Dam good respected fighter who would threaten top contenders. Mr. Lindland put Fedor through hell, and if It wasnt for the rope grabbing by Fedor, he would have been slammed hard.He had Fedor in alot of trouble.

Maybe I could have seen another KO of the night, like when he KO`d himself.........
Seriusly I think he belong among the best and UFC really need bouth him, Gomi/Hellboy/Fedor/Randy/Gomi/Nick Diaz/Monon/Babyface if you ask me.
But a good thing they don`t have all the best so we get some outside competiotion. Think it is very healthy for the sport.

I think one Gomi will do, and UFC can do without Edwin Dewees (and Monson) just fine.
I know you meant Barnett.
Just forgot the Assassin-part.

Matt Lindland: UFC Refuses to Negotiate New Deal -- MMAjunkie.com
Here's a part of it...
Quote:
The relationship between Lindland and the UFC has been strained since the fighter was fired in August 2005, two days after his victory over Joe Doerksen at UFC 54. Lindland was told the reason for the termination was that he wore the logo of an unapproved sponsor to the weigh-ins.
“There’s a lot of other people that had similar sponsors, or unapproved sponsors, (and they) weren’t suspended,” Lindland said of his sports-book sponsor. “They didn’t fire me for doing that. They fired me the next day after I fought. You know, I didn’t wear the sponsor into the ring. There’s guys that have worn similar sponsors — or even the same company — into the ring that didn’t get fired. I didn’t wear it into the ring. I wore it at the weigh-ins.
“That’s a crazy reason to fire someone.“
