If Matt Serra loses to GSP, is he still top 10?
Think about it: Serra only got into the top 10 after beating GSP, so if GSP beats him shouldn't he be knocked off the list? Serra doesn't have wins over any other ranked welterweights, so I think he should have to go if GSP beats him.

No he should not be knocked right off. He never should of been placed first I think but he should stay on it. If he loses again after GSP then he is off I think. Maybe drop him to 6th or so if he loses. Well IDK depends on the fight also, if Serra puts up a great fight and still loses he should stay ranked higher

Depends whose list your talking about.
On average, he'll stay in the top 10. If he loses to GSP, then to Hughes, he'll have to start from scratch and be off most people's list.

Sorry, I'm going by the MMAWeekly Top 10. I also think it's funny that he's the recognized champ and still only #2 on that list.

Honesrly Matt Serra doesnt deserve to be in the top 10 now let alone if he loses to the only man he beat to get in. No one gave a **** about the "terror" before... he didnt work his way up the ranks. He was on a comeback show and wasnt impressive on that either. Barely beat Shonie Carter who has looked like **** for like... maybe ever (since long before the comeback i mean)! and had a supr boring fight with lights out lytle. Then he gets a tko over GSP and all of the sudden he is number one???? Please! By the rules of MMA weekly's rankings if he doesnt have the fight with gsp before april 7th he is off the rankings anyway for going over a year without fighting. How sad is it that people have thought so highly of a man who's biggest win was over almost a year ago and he hasnt fought anyone since. Can anyone say buster Douglas?

I think he should be knocked off if he loses. Serra has never impressed me outside of the GSP fight and if GSP beats him convincingly then the first win can/will be written off as a fluke.

You have to admit he his a good fighter, but we're not talking about thousands of people in this weight class to compete for the top ten.
Were was he ranked before the GSP fight? It couldnt be too high if your on the comeback episode.
I cant say I take too much intrest any any fighters who asks for recognition in any other way except for a quiet performance.

He should be off the top ten list. If GSP beats him i would say that their first match was a fluke or due other circomstances(spelling?).
That division is stacked and i dont think Serra is in the top of it.

Nothing against the guy, but Serra does not belong in the top ten unless he beats either GSP (again) or Hughes.
Then, he definitely deserves a spot.

If Serra loses then yeah, he's out of the top 10.

Hum for now no. But later after I think yes because I don't see him winning on other 170lbs.

I think he should be on the UFC's WW top 10 regardless, but if he loses to GSP I don't know if he should be on a worldwide WW top 10 list - of course, it all depends on how he performs - if he loses to GSP but gives him a run for his money, then I'll think differently (and I hope everyone else will, too) - and if he beats him again, I hope people won't see the first one as a fluke.

For me it depends on how well he does against GSP. If GSP beats him early in the fight and makes it look easy, then yeah he should be taken out of the top 10. However, if Serra loses but gives GSP a good fight then I think he should stay on but be dropped down to like 7 or 8 - then if he loses his next fight he's out.

Aside from his stunner over GSP,Serra has only finished one opponent in the last 6 years. And none of his victories were over stellar competition, especially at 170.He fought two 145lbers in Menjivar and Curran, and lost to both Karo and BJ.No 170 lb victories to his name besides Chris Lytle. How can he be ranked?
If GSP dominates him,I think the majority of the MMA world will categorize thier first meeting as a fluke.

Maybe in top 10 but he's not in top 5 imo.
The division is pretty stacked...
GSP, Diego Sanchez, Matt Hughes, Karo Parisyan, Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck, Josh Burkman, Thiago Alves, Marcus Davis.

if he loses to gsp i dont think that erases his first loss. to be 1-1 with gsp is much better than never having fought him at all. in terms of rankings i dont think you can include whether you thought it was a fluke or not. for rankings purposes a wins a win.
so should he stay in the top 10? i believe so. top 5? i think you need more than 1 high profile win to be a top 5 welterweight
