Default George Sotiropoulos vs. Roman Mitichyan

We won't see it but it should be a good battle.

Quote:
“The Ultimate Fighter 6” cast members George Sotiropoulos (8-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Roman Mitichyan (5-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will meet April 2 at UFC Fight Night 13.

The fight was revealed overnight on UFC.com.

UFC Fight Night 13 takes place at the Broomfield Event Center near Denver, Colo. The event, broadcast by Spike TV, is headlined by a lightweight bout between Kenny Florian and Joe Lauzon.

Sotiropoulos, a semifinalist on the show, earned victories Jared Rollins and Richie Hightower before he was stopped by eventual show runner-up Tommy Speer in the show’s semifinals. The 30-year-old then returned at the show’s live finale and defeated Billy Miles with a first-round submission. The Australian is now training with UFC welterweight champ Matt Serra, who served as his coach on “The Ultimate Fighter.“

Mitichyan was also a cast member on the show, though his stint would be a short one. The Armenia showed up in Las Vegas with a pre-existing elbow injury. After an X-ray revealed that it was a broken bone, he was sent home and replaced by John Koppenhaver. However, the UFC invited him to compete at the show’s live finale, where he scored a stunning, 23-second submission (via achilles lock) of Dorian Price.

Given the depth of the event’s card, the Sotiropoulos-Mitichyan fight has been relegated to the night’s un-televised preliminary card.

I'm leaning toward George in this fight, although we've only seen 23 seconds of Roman, so I don't know how good he is. I'm gonna say George by TKO, given that Roman is more of a ground guy.

If I had to choose, I would pick George, but Roman looked really good in his last fight. Its weird that they are getting matched up so soon in the UFC.

I'm going with Roman, I was never impressed with Sotiropoulos.

My money goes on Roman. I wish they would air this fight on Spike.

Hard to say having seen so little of Roman, but I gotta go with George!

I just saw Mitchyan's first fight and I think we should we start calling his finish the Armenian Achilles Lock I say that because it's exactly how Manny Gamburyan beat Nate Mohr at UFC 79: Achilles lock transitioning from the opponent's full guard. Never understood why more people don't go for that move.

I don't think Manny's was an achilles lock, because I'm pretty sure Nate's knee was screwed up after that, and an achilles lock won't do that.

Gotta go with my fellow Aussie.

Shame about George in TUF. Pitty fighters can't wear goggles!
