Default Brock Lesnar next fight - August

Sounds like it might be UFC 87: Summerslam

Quote:
Brock Lesnar’s chance to redeem his debut loss at UFC 81 was expected to come at June’s UFC 85 event in London. However, Lesnar will now be on the shelf until August.

The news comes from Yahoo! Sports. Dave Meltzer spoke to UFC president Dana White about the date.

As MMAjunkie.com (UFC News & Rumors - MMA News - UFC Fighters - UFC Event Recaps and Previews - MMAjunkie.com) previously reported, heavyweight Justin McCully has been approached about a fight with Lesnar and is expected to accept it. McCully revealed the planned bout while a recent guest on HDNet’s “Inside MMA” show. It’ll now likely come in August.
The UFC hasn’t officially (or even unofficially) announced any fight dates for August, though.

Earlier this month, Lesnar made his much-anticipated octagon debut at UFC 81. Although dominating all but a few seconds of the fight, he suffered a first-round submission via knee-bar to Frank Mir. However, the event proved to be one of the most successful pay-per-views in UFC history, with more than 650,000 “buys,” thanks largely to Lesnar, a former NCAA Division 1 national wrestling champ and former World Wrestling Entertainment performer.

Even before the Lesnar-Mir fight took place, The Sun had reported that UFC officials in the organization’s U.K. office were targeting Lesnar for headliner status at UFC 85, which takes place June 7 at the 02 Arena in London. A light heavyweight bout between Chuck Liddell and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will likely headline the event instead.

So it's come to this...Liddell v. Shogun is the backup play for the headliner.

Its funny is'nt it? The two most talked about MMA fighters these days have a collective 4 mma fights between them. Kimbo and Lesnar, its a strange day in our sport.

I don't like Brock at all, and I could care less if he wins or loses his next fight, he also faught like he hardly knew any of the basics of mma.

Damnit... Liddell vs. Shogun is an awesome fight, but I really wanted to see Lesnar's next match sooner/for free.

Looks like Brock will be fighting Marc Coleman. They mentioned 5 months notice so I assume this will be in August.

By the way, is being inducted to the UFC HOF a stepping stone for comeback?

Yep. He's fighting Coleman. I'm watching the PPV and Mark just said he's fighting Lesnar in August. I can't see Mark winning though.

Dude, I don't know. Coleman's got loads of mma experience and their wrestling should pretty much stalemate. It'll be interesting. I think you're probably right though. Even/comparable skill the bigger/stronger guy usually wins. However, Coleman's got a lot less muscle mass than Lesnar. Coleman could outlast him. Tuff second match-up for Lesnar and tuff welcome back match for Coleman.

Gotta say..i didnt see this matchup coming.

Lesnar/Mir was easier to call coz of Mir's BJJ. But for this one, i gotta go wif experience IF only Coleman could last round 1. Lesnar gonna go all ape-sh*t when the bell rings.

The volume wasn't very loud in the pub I was in, so the Coleman interview was pretty muffled - up until I checked out FF and UFC.com, I thought Coleman was merely stating who he would fight if he were to come back; I had no idea he was actually making a return. Coming back against Brock Lesnar isn't exactly going to be pleasant, though...
