As funny as the comment is (and it's pretty funny) there's a lot of truth to it. How much these guys get is really the work of their manager's and agents. So although some are more popular or may deserve more, the person representing is ensuring they're getting top dollar.
It's a combination of the fighters doing their part in the ring but also managers/agents doing their part out of the ring. Just wanted to throw in my two cents.
