Gutted. Im going and was sooooo looking forward to Chuck vs Shogun. This will no way be as good a fight.
I agree though the UFC is limited as to who they have available to fight Chuck with alot of other LHW fighters signed up for matches over the next few months.
I think Chuck takes this 2nd round KO and puts an end to Rashad's perfect record.

Sig bets sound good. Who is your favorite fighter?

This is a terrible matchup. I hope we see the Rashad dance as Evans is seizing on the mat.

This is what Rashad showed me against Bisping
1. His takedowns are weak. Michael doesn't have a strong wrestling background, but he was giving Rashad fits trying to take it to the mat. It's safe to say that Chuck won't have any problems.
2. His standup is mediocre. He has short arms vs Chuck's lengthy ones (see liddell-silva)
3. He was shot in the third round both against Evans and Ortiz. Chuck was still throwing haymakers against Silva at the bell.
I don't see how he can beat Chuck. I am game for any kind of bets. What about a screen name bet? we never do those on here.

This is what I figured they would end up doing. Good matchup for Chuck imo, I don't think Rashad will be able to strike with him or take him down. I'll go with Chuck by TKO R2.

I'm gonna hold back on any bets for this fight... it seems like every time I get overconfident in fights like these, my favourite ends up losing. I expect Liddell to win, but this time I'm not going to advise my friends to tune in so they can watch Chuck punch a hole through Rashad.

You and I are probably the only ones taking Rashad. The odds I'll get are making me giddy already.
Liddell's aura of invincibilily has declined substantially and his age has gone up. I think Rashad is the type of fighter that plays up to his opponents level. He doesn't overwhelm his opponents; but, he will do enough to win. I think he will weather a few good barages...and contrary to what many think, Chuck will get taken down and pounded.

I was almost certain they'd do this. I mean who else was really out there honestly?
But Rashad will be dispatched rather quickly in the first. If Rashad could barely hang with Tito on his feet, Chuck will Knock him into next week.

I am 95% sure that Chuck will win this fight. The only thing that could go wrong is a strong haymaker that lands flush on Chucks jaw.

I've wanted to see Chuck vs Rashad for a while now, but it's very disapointing to lose Chuck vs Shogun. Evans vs Thiago was appealing too. Damn injuries. Oh well, it's almost impossible to have a bad matchup in LHW right now.
I'm losing faith in Evans since he drew with Tito and scraped by Bisping. He needs to win this or move down to MW.

I remember when you and I were the lone drivers of the Rashad bandwagon.
Rashad has had a rough last two showings, but I think he could have beating both Tito and Bisping had he not fought so conservatively. He also seemed to gas in the Bisping fight.
Chuck's past his prime, and Rashad's with a stellar camp. This fight is months away, and Rashad will have plenty of time to prepare.Chuck's actual striking ability has always been overrated. His fights with Overeem and Mezger revealed that his chin was the only thing keeping him from losing. Now marginally decent strikers are getting the better of him.
Don't let the Wandy fight fool you.Chuck's reach played a huge factor, not to mention Wandy is older, coming off back to back losses, and it was his return fight to the UFC.There has been an adjustment period for all the Pride guys coming over.Wandy basically just stood there and tried to slug it out.Rashad will be much more elusive and will throw straight combos.
Rashad,as I stated years ago, will put Chuck away.

Too many people are underestimating Rashad. Yeah, his fight with Bisping wasn't that great but he has showed a lot of power and explosiveness with his striking in some of his other fights and I think he can easily KO Liddell if Liddell underestimates him and lets his guard down. I'm leaning more towards Liddell in this fight, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rashad is the one that ends up putting Chuck to sleep.

So many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start.
You mention Chuck being old. With all that is happening age is nothing but a number. Look at Randy, Mark, and Chuck. All three still strong. Chuck is only 38.
You say that his chin was the only thing keeping him in fights with Overeem and Mezger. In the Overeem fight Overeems size advantage was a huge factor and threw Chuck off. The fact that he stayed strong and won is amazing.
The Mezger fight is a lot like the Wandy/Mezger fight. Mezger can strike with about anyone. He has a week jaw, but is super quick. All that fight showed was Liddell has a heart as big as his right hand.
Who knew Wanderlei Silva was old? I guess I thought 31 was about the prime of most fighters. After all the great Anderson Silva is age 32.
