I hope Chuck Ko'es Evans. One can only wish, but I think it is likely to happen, as Rashad won't be able to put Chuck on his back and will end up eating a big old punch sooner or later.

I think this is a good fight for the ufc. look at how many rooster have fluffed their feathers for this fight. It gets attention because in America these fighters appeal to the casual fan and even the hardcore fans on this page get riled up and say that Rashad will win.

I think Chuck will knock Rashad out. Don't see Rashad getting Chuck down...and honestly I don't think it would matter if he did because
Chuck would get right back up.

Everything I've seen from him so far leads me to believe Rashad would have had no problem taking him down and grinding out a decision against him.
That being said, the UFC did the right thing by putting Rashad in there, at least he's got a name. Chuck via TKO rd. 2.

he didnt look lethargic at all, he came out swinging for the fences and gassed a bit, which is to be expected. he outlasted drwal and finished him convincingly. he has dynamite standup with solid jiu jitsu, has finished 11 of his 12 wins and is undefeated. its hard not to rate the guy. he hasnt beat the top comeptition, but he has made the good competition look poor.

if tito couldnt get chuck on his back, how do you think rashad is gonna do it? even if he does, he's certainly not gonna hold him down for long with his LnP

We're defintely talking about 2 different Thiago Silva's. I just rewatched this fight and I'm convinced enough now to take him out of my top 10 completely next month. His punches are slow, his stand-up defense is poor, his kicks are weak and telegraphed as well as his takedowns and takedown defense, his cardio is obviously poor considering how fast Drwal gassed and they were side by side in that aspect. He does have a decent chin though I'll give him that, he ate a ton of leather.
Rashad would manhandle him, even the out of shape Rashad we saw against Bisping.
I still think the UFC did the right thing by throwing Rashad in there against Chuck, he needs to see what a beating feels like and the fans will eat it up.

Did he not knock Tito out after frustrating the hell out of him b/c he couldnt take Chuck down. How excatly was that not impressive?

I just got this feeling Rashad is gonna be in Chucks face and put on the pressure. Rashad has quicker hands imo.
Then again, Rashad might get KO if he gets too close and leaves an opening.

why are you blindly biased in favor of wrestlers in MMA? i was waiting for you to talk up sean salmon again... do you think a wrestler can beat chuck? is rashad better then tito in that dept? doubtful, considering we saw tito manhandle rashad at his own game... id think a fighter who cant be taken down (chuck) will pick apart rashad on his feet... isnt that the most logical?

Chuck is a wrestler that is what makes him quality. Although I would say guys this is MMA and even when all the odds are stacked against fighters the reality can always be different.
There have been bigger upsets in the history of MMA.
Also take note if the general feeling is that Rashard is a dead man the fighters will get word and that will have a couple of effects. If the effects are it spurs on Rashard to pull his lazy finger out and train like a mad man and the effect is Chuck believes his own hype and comes into the fight over confident do not be shocked at the result.
If both train hard and come in with the correct mindsets we could see a reasonable fight with Chuck KOin within two rounds but guys lets not argue like we think we can see the future...

Um, no, he did not knock Tito out. The fight was stopped (prematurely IMO) when Tito was on the ground and Chuck was punching him in the arms. Nothing was landing.
Liddell was unimpressive because Tito was hitting him... a lot. I was expecting that fight to be a blow-out, ending in an unconscious Tito. Not what happened, it was actually a pretty close fight until the bogus stoppage.

I am blindly biased in favour of wrestlers? My favourite fighter is Penn, and he will destroy the wrestlers in the LW division. I do my best to be objective. It's a fact that wrestlers do well in a cage with UFC rules. Let's not lose sight of the fact that Chuck is a wrestler, but he just uses it differently.
If you look back at my comments in this thread, I never said Rashad would beat Chuck. I'm just saying it's not obvious that Chuck takes it. Rashad has a history of rising to the occasion, and Chuck clearly isn't an unbeatable foe.

chuck by spectacular ko...he's going to catch rashad making a mistake while striking, and there's gonna be a hole that chuck sees early and he's going to explode on it. i think rashad is going to suffer from one of chucks most devastating knockouts to date.

Being that Vanderlie hasn't been the same fighter since coming off the steroids, physically or mentally,we should really look at Liddell's decision over him as a so so win.Rashad should win this fight easily if he goes in right, which is take Chuck down and crush him.
