A victory over Karo is good especialy when Karo is getting a title shot the same time Sherk is facing GSP. And its two victories. My points are going on GSP but Sherk could win this one. His only loss is to Hughes.
PS: I know what happened last time GSP faced a guy with his only loss being to Hughes but I still think that this will be a good fight.

The guy lost to Hughes by decision too. It wasn't like he got KOed or submitted. The guy obviously stood his ground and survived against Matt Hughes, and that deserves from respect right there in my opinion.
Many great fighters have been defeated by Hughes in the 1st or 2nd round, including GSP.
So Sherk is obviously the real deal. And anyone who defeated Karo twice is respectable in my book.
Finally, I guess on November 19th, we will find out if Sherk is legit. He might be the WW champ this time next year for all we know.

Sherk isn't just some smoe that GSP can roll over. Sherk is a great wrestler. And has a good chance of winning. Horn is good enought to beat Chuck. But for some strange reason he decided to stand up with him.

Afterwards they came out and said the plan was to stand with Chuck and tire him so that Horn could take him down. Horn thought it wasn't going to be really possible for him to take Chuck down in the first couple rounds before Chuck was winded.

That decision with Hughes was 2 1/2 years ago and as luvtobox said, he was whipped the whole fight.

Hieron never got a chance to prove his wrestling skills against GSP, the only time it went to the ground was when GSP was pounding on him to finish the fight with a TKO in under 2mins of the first round.
I'm a big GSP fan, and personally I have to say his fight against Sherk makes me nervous. Sherk is super strong on the ground. I'm hoping GSP keeps it standing and does what he did against Heiron, although Sherk will be a lot more difficult to put down IMO.

hieron never got a chance to goto the ground because GSP didnt want it to... every single fight i have seen of GSP (including against hughes) has seen GSP dictate the whole pace of the fight 99% of the time... i see sherk no being no different... dont forget how good GSP is on the ground too.. the only thing i know is that sherk only has a chance if its on the ground and even then might be in trouble

Thanks that will be interesting to know. I for one have GSP winning. Sherk will be a tough opponent for GSP no doubt but I still think that GSP will be winning this one.

Wow what a match up two great fighters. GSP is a great fighter i sometimes think a little under rated on the ground he was just unlucky against Matt Hughes. Hughes beat him fair and square don't get me wrong, he put up quite a fight against him on the ground and on his stand up game too. Now Sherk i really like he's strong he's fast and powerful not too mention a very seasoned fighter and a world class wrestler i think if it goes too the ground it'll go Sherk's way without a doubt GSP has already found out what happens to a wrestler when you take him down he, dosen't like been held on his back not to mention it's a stuggle getting him there, i think he'll have his hands full. My prediction is a ground and pound win by Sherk

I have GSP down to win it, but I have to say I think it will be a very tough fight for him. Sherk is amazing on the ground, and as I have said before, IMO GSP's best chance of winning is to keep it standing wherever possible and go for the K.O. Whether that will be his strategy or not will be interesting to find out. I can't wait for this fight!
