Default Diego Sanchez vs Luigi Fiorivanti @ TUF Finale

Diego Sanchez (Pictures) will return to the Octagon June 21 in Las Vegas in the main event of "The Ultimate Fighter 7" finale, sources have told Sherdog.com. He is expected to square off against Luigi Fioravanti (Pictures) in a welterweight tilt that will follow a series of bouts involving participants of the upcoming season of the UFC's reality show.

Though the fight has not been officially signed, both sides have verbally accepted.

Sanchez, 25, ran his record to 18-2 by dominating David Bielkheden (Pictures) at UFC 82 earlier this month. It was his first win since dropping consecutive decisions to Josh Koscheck (Pictures) and Jon Fitch (Pictures) in 2007. Despite falling out of UFC welterweight contention, Sanchez will draw the headlining gig on SpikeTV, showing the UFC's confidence in the former TUF winner's drawing power.

Fioravanti (12-3-0) fought at UFC 82 as well, garnering a unanimous decision over another former TUF star, Luke Cummo (Pictures). The 27-year-old native of Orlando, Fla., has had mixed success in the UFC, losing his previous two contests before his recent win. This will be Fioravanti's first main event on the big stage.

Diego Sanchez to Headline TUF Finale

Looks like they want Diegos record to get better again.

My thoughts exactly. Apparently Joe Silva wasnt impressed with Luigi's performace at UFC82 (even though he won?) and Im guessing they're now feeding him to Diego as a consequence.

Luigi's no pushover. He fought tough against Cummo.

I'll root for Luigi but I'm just not excited for this matchup. Is Diego supposed to get fans riled up for the event?

I don't understand. Luigi beat a tough guy in Cummo, and Diego destroyed his last opponent. It's a step up in competition for both of them, both are coming off wins. Makes perfect sense for once.

I'm not very excited about this. I don't see Fioravanti as a potential contender. Sanchez vs Marcus Davis, now that would be interesting.

This isn't even a good co-main event. They go from Huerta vs Guida to Sanchez vs Fioravanti, Come on.

Luigi just took Cummo down and laid on top of him. It was your basic LnP decision win. I wasn't impressed at all with it. Diego should win this fight easily.

I'll look forward to this one, if they stand up it'll be a good fight which I see happening because both of them are pretty good wrestlers so there will probably be a lot of shoots, I see Diego taking it but Luigi isn't a pushover he's been in the octagon a lot, so this could be a close one.

Diego by GnP early Rd 2 imo. I see why they want to pump up diego in a new weight class but this fight doesn't interest me that much, not to take anything away from luigi.

Just my 2 cents

Default Diego Sanchez Vs. Luigi Fioravanti

Personally I think Diego has unlimited potential. If he performs like he did on the ultimate fighter finale when he fought Kenny Florian, he will beast right through this guy. Back when I was a big fan, he fought really intensively and was persistant and never let up. Now I'm not so sure, but if my predictions are correct, Luigi (marios brother) has alot to be worried about.
