Hey, they showed clips of Marcus Davis training Samoa Joe. Frank Trigg was on last night as a color commentator and to talk about his training sessions with Samoa Joe. But, everybody needs to remember that Samoa Joe had been trained for pro-wrestling by Antonio Inoki (the same guy that trained Lyoto Machida in MMA before he came to the UFC). So, it really is not a step down for Davis and Trigg to have any association with Samoa Joe. And, if you watched Trigg last night, you can easily tell that he was just having a lot of fun with the pseudo-sport of pro-wrestling. He was animated and colorful as he called a wrestling match with the other two commentators.
I'm not sure if anybody here caught the reference, but Angle made a reference to Tomco fighting in a shoot match in Japan that Tomco had won. In wrestling, especially in Japan, a shoot match comes as close to being real as pro-wrestling can get while still remaining a predetermined outcome pseudo-sport. Some shoot matches in pro-wrestling have become legendary as actual real fights. I think there was a website that listed them.
