Sub, I'm sorry, you've obviously been a long time member here. However, you are really losing complete, and I mean complete credibility with me. You have to provide actual and factual links/info about somebody faking an injury. I would only believe you if you could find some quotes that were meaningful. I don't recall you posting after that season of TUF or during it, that he faked his injury.

Back onto this whole faking the broken foot. Okay, perhaps he was wrong about the first round when it happened? Find and post the video of the second round. To me he through a kick that could potentially have broken his foot. Having said this, he was already doing the running in the first round.

In closing, who knows what the guy was thinking. He cracked. Nobody has seen a performance like that. The announcers were lost for words about what he was doing. Simply, in the start of the fight, perhaps he saw that he was going to lose, then thought about being screwed by the UFC, and then decided that this would be his last fight. At some point in the fight I think he decided that taking a beating wasn't worth his time. Perhaps he knew already that the UFC wouldn't renew him or he was on his way out. I don't think publicly he could ever admit to throwing a fight. Only in his heart does he know it.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but I do not care about credibility. I speak my OPINIONS. I form them myself, and express them. I try not to offend, but I am human and I do make mistakes.

As for Starnes and TUF and the chondral break (which is when a rib tears away from the sternum), Shamrock said it best on the show. You don't walk around and horse around after that break. My grandfather had that break from falling from a ladder. He could not even stand up. So, I go with Ken Shamrock on this since he said that he had suffered that break before.

You are correct about the motivation of Starnes in the fight with Quarry. We have only the words that Starnes has put out there in an after-the-fact way where he likely did not want to say what really went on. Or, maybe he was being serious and lied. We may never know. I think that, IMO, he has done this before and so it makes it hard to trust him.

If he knew he was on the way out, then he should have went out swinging. I saw moments in the first round where he was landing a few punches and he had that straight kick working somewhat. I think that had he went in and engaged closely and banged it out with Quarry, then Starnes might have had a really good night. Maybe not. Maybe he gets KO'd in the first. I just think that he had a demon in himself that he was really fighting. Quarry was just the guy opposite him and that demon caused Starnes to humiliate himself.

Also, in parting, Mark Hominick ran away from Jorge Gurgel back in June of 2006. What really made me angry then was that Hominick won the decision. That might have been what Starnes had tried to do against Quarry.

Yeah, mine is a theory. My opinion, there is a big difference.

i agree with your post, but no need to bring up all this again... if you read over the LONG thread you will see everyone started to come to an agreement about what you said...

i think your right, but i agree we will never know...

You make great points. We should take this on a case-by-case basis. The past is the past, I see that.

Watch the PPV again, if you have it on DVR or whatever, and you see people in the audience holding up signs supporting Kalib Starnes. If that had been me, instead of Starnes, I would have probably walked into a punch from Quarry hoping for a fast finish, if I thought or knew that I had been so badly outclassed. That way, at the least, people in the audience would have cheered me for fighting and engaging.

I think, above all else, injuries arguments set aside, that Starnes' running away was what made us all the most angry. Again, Starnes should not have defended that at all. He should have stayed quiet and moved on and let us forget. But, his comments in the post-match and now in the linked website or whatever in this thread, have poured gasoline (expensive stuff these days) on a raging fire.

now i dont disagree with any of that personally.. thats what i would do... kalib seems to always be more on the business end of things... again, i said he doesnt have the drive... of course he SHOULD have walked into a punch in a blaze of glory... my guess is he was more worried about his next fight and wanted to avoid harm... obviously not going to be a fan favorite... i guess final point being, he has little drive and little ability to create excitement around him as a fighter... but he does have skills.. i still think there was no faking (although it seems fighters ALWAYS say they were hurt) its a played out excuse that is no worse in this case then all the other fighters who did it....

either way he is cut (rightfully so)

i will admit after a loss you ALWAYS hear about injuries... and i also admit kalib was way outclassed... however i could care less about shamrocks experienced comments... kalib got blasted in the midsection with a huge kick... he obviously had trouble moving.... so that is a nonfactor... as far as this last fight it was odd, and i would have liked to see more from him, but he was outclassed... if he was injured or not he would have lost... but he could care less what people say on the internet about him, im sure he was far more concerned with being booed IN REAL LIFE by his countrymen.. . its morer a question of heart then faking injuries IMO

Look, we have all seen fights were one of the fighters had been so outclassed that they literally looked for a way out of the fight. Usually, that meant giving their back to a choke and tapping quickly. I do NOT care about that, as I think that it's okay to know that you are outclassed. At least they tried and got beaten.

But, faking an injury has to be an all-time NO-NO thing to do in any fight. I do not believe that Starnes had been injured. He ran away from Quarry the entire fight. There was no injury. And, this time, I highly doubt that any UG post from Starnes will convince anybody. The last time, people gave him the benefit of the doubt (despite Shamrock's experienced comments). This time, I bet they laugh Starnes' ass right off of UG or Sherdog or any other forums.

why would he do that?? why sign up in the first place?? makes 0 sense to do that without reason or good cause... what the 10k he was getting paid to make a fool of himself in front of millions? doubtful.... he got hurt, he doesnt have the drive to fight through it like some (but not all)... he got hurt again and he lost...

as far as the rib injury, that seemed totally legit to me

He RAN AROUND for fifteen minutes on a broken foot and never limped or showed any sign of a break. I do NOT believe anything that Starnes says. He faked injuries to get out of fights. Plain and simple.

Add me onto the "Starnes is full of it" bandwagon. I didn't believe him in TUF, and don't believe him now. He showed ZERO sign of foot pain during the last fight.

dude you are scary sometimes....

why would he fake it??? the first rib injury was because of a brutal kick to the ribs... this last injury, sure there was no clear contact... but him throwing a kick after his foot was broken meant nothing... rich franklin threw punches for 4 rounds with a broken hand against the crow...

no sucking it, no faking injuries... he lost and didnt have the drive to continue and fight through it... no conspiracy theories

Dude, he totally faked his supposed chondral break. It was totally BS. Even Ken Shamrock pointed out, and he knows as he had that injury, that you cannot even walk around with such a break. Starnes was up and walking and F'N around at the house after his fight. He totally faked it. That's why the "broken foot" injury pissed me off so much. And, look at the fight again. BOTH FIGHTS! Against Quarry, where was the "first kick" that broke the foot? People have posted here already showing what BS that was from Starnes. So, SUCK IT! Starnes is/was a disgrace to MMA.

Where are you getting this whole faked the rib injury crap? Please post some sources or stfu about it honestly. I mean that will the deepest of respect. Posting flagrant BS that defames somebody shouldn't be allowed here. Isn't that along the lines of fighter bashing? You can post rubbish or acusations like that without anything to back it up? Please, show us links about this so called faking of the rib injury.

He should have been called out on TUF when he faked the rib injury.

I wonder if crow tastes like chicken?

Think about it...

Those kicks arent enough to break anything.. even a hard thrown push kick won't do any damage.

But Aika, Starnes is such a Mad Skilled MAJOR Martial Artist that his foot broke from the awesome G Forces generated from his own kick alone............ No other contact was needed....
