They'd need a big draw fight of consequence to replace it. I could see a Hendo vs. Marquardt fight possibly, or maybe a big name lightweight bout. Florian vs. Huerta for the next title shot. They'd need to bring in a big name fighter or a big consequence fight to fill the main even. Preferably both, but I don't see how they can do that.

Just thought of this, but why not replace Chuck with Thiago Silva. Silva vs. Rashad is one I'd like to see.

Looks like you were onto something, MWM.

Multiple sources tell Sherdog.com that Sacramento, Calif.-based light heavyweight James Irvin (Pictures) could be the man to fill Liddell's large shoes, though the bout with Evans (11-0-1) has not been filled at this point.

Anyone find it a bit weird that the UFC felt the need to post a picture of Liddell's injured hamstring? When they normally announce that a fighter has been pulled off a card due to an injury it doesn't normally include a picture of it. I mean where's the picture/x-rays of Serra's back or Shogun's knee or all of the other fighters that had to pull out of a fight due to an injury. It's almost as if they knew people would think that they wouldn't buy the injury, so they felt they needed to post a picture of it.

Okay... let's fix the problem. Idears anyone?

Here's my ideas for co-main events with Vera vs. Werdum:

Franklin vs. Hendo -- Franklin has one month to recover and one month to train. He didn't take too many shots this weekend.

Leben vs. Hendo -- If Franklin won't take the fight.

Silva vs. Okami -- This can't sell a card on its own anyway, but it's bound to happen and we should get it over with.

Diaz vs. Gamburyan -- This one is a reach, but I'm running out of ideas.

Kaleb Starnes vs. the guy who just one the Boston Marathon this weekend

Edith's Right Boob vs. Her Left Boob

    Fake.

You can tell it's fake because it's not even his right leg. That's just Chuck's penis.

Lol. I would like to see the original matchup with Thiago Silva. Silva/Okami would be another one I really want to see, too. Hendo/Marquardt is another fight that would be awesome to see.

I think we'd all love to see T. Silva vs. Rashad, but Dana will claim it's not marketable (and he's probably right). Hendo/Marquardt won't happen because of Marquardt's upcoming fight against Leites.

That's right. I forgot about that one. To be honest, though, I think they will just add another fight with middle tier fighters, though. It's a freebie on Spike and it's in England, which means there's two ways that the UFC won't make a as muchf money off of it.

I bet they'll push back either the Ortiz v. Machida fight (unlikely since Dana won't let Tito headline a card on the last fight of his contract) or the Jardine vs. Wandy fight. That seems like the most marketable fight and the biggest name draw they could put out there on short notice. Just give the guys another two weeks to train.

That just means they'll need to put together another decent fight to fill up the UFC 84 card, though frankly that card looks pretty good already to me. Penn vs. Sherk, Tito vs. Machida, and Thiago Silva on the card. I bet they could throw together something like McFedries vs. Rivera, maybe Cote vs. Rivera, something with some guys who have name recognition.

Oh crap, this event had a weak main event as it was.
I wonder what they'll come up with now.

    Heavyweight Title Fight?

Have I been sleeping or something, was this announced as an interim title fight?
I am wondering the same thing. I've missed the last two PPV's and haven't checked the forum much in the last few months. What happened to Nog? Has he left the UFC? I searched but didn't find anything.
