Ortiz vs. White is UFC's hottest feud - MMA - Yahoo! Sports

Dana Calls BS on Ortiz. It is pretty unprofessional to be throwing out salary information like this but hey Tito started it I guess.

You know Tito isn't doing the greatest when the only way he can get attention is by involving other fighters in his "righteous" quest.

Tito is really the only top tier fighter bitching about money. I mean Coutures gripe isnt even about M oney with The UFC, so much as it is the fighters under not making much. Couture has a legit, although poorly presented argument. So it's a stalemate between Couture and The UFC.

Now Tito?

He's just bad with money. Sure, he has a company that he claims is a multi million dollar company (Which I can't imagine people buy that many Punishment shirts, I was a huge Tito fan until he lost his brain and I have only 6 shirts).

He brings in at least 250k (Sometimes more), as a contender in his fights, but the last 4 years he's only averaging a fight a year.

Again, in other words he's not really smart.

Chuck fought more than once a year because obviously Chuck knew that fighting wouldnt last forever and as Champion, it behooves you to just fight and make the $$$ win or lose.

Think about it. Chuck fought on 12-26-06 (BTW Fight Forums all time record for most members online in one day) when he fought Tito a second time. He won, even with a torn ACL later after the fight.

He rehabbed, then fought Rampage on 5-26-07, which he of course lost.

Chuck wanted to stay active. Both fights he made 500k. That's ONE MILLION plus endorsements in under 8 months.

CHuck knew he had to stay active to make the $$$$ he needed to do. Chuck Knew at 34, he needed to make the $$$ now as much as he can, and BTW made 300k I think for his fight with Wanderlei earlier this year and another 200k vs Jardine late last year AFTER his loss to Rampage.

Chuck is one smart MOFO and HE shouldve been on "The Apprentice" !

Chuck may never get his title back. As long as he contends as a dominant former UFC champ and can still fight 2 or 3 times a year?

Do the math!

Chuck is set...... FREAKIN SET!

Keep fighting.

For some reason, Tito picks and chooses his fights and The UFC moves on.

The problem I see here is this.

If Tito blows Machida away? It gives him HUGE marketability to renegotiate a new contract.

I dont want to know what kind of terms Tito would agree to.

I feel it would really be unreasonable **** You Money.

Scarecrow

As soon as GSP beats Silva, I'd like to see a GSP vs Tito match.

I'd bet Tito is retarded enough to accept it too.

Am I missing some sort of joke or somethin here? The chances of GSP taking out Silva with ease(as you imply) is as about as far fetched as saying Jenna is a prude..LMAO

With that being said I would love to see Silva fight Tito..
Maybe add another skull to his throne..:D

I cant wait until Tito is gone and losing to C level fighters on shows in Reno, NV. I remember an article about 2 years ago saying GSP made over a million dollars that year. Now throw in how much he has grown since then. **** GSP said in an interview he got a 400k bonus check from Dana after his 1st fight with Hughes. Yeah I am pretty sure he is really pissed about paying the yearly tags, and gas on a 50k car.

in that whole interview Tito is going on about how he is a business man and that he is just speaking up for all the fighters. Then later he says that he deserves around 30% as a purse.

So as he is speaking for all the fighters I assume he expects the person he is fighting to get around the same, which leaves 40% minus what the other fighters get paid and that doesn't leave much for zuffa. If thats how Tito runs punishment athletics I want to work for him. When will Tito realise that he is an employee of a company, yes an employee that makes them a lot of money but an employee all the same. The owners and presidents of a company are always going to make a lot more than the employees.

Rant over

I think Tito's been taking lessons from Latrell Spreewell on bitching about making millions. Ended pretty well for Latrell, too...

Dude I'm totally with you on this one. Really though his comments are so uneducated that it doesn't really do any harm. He acts like it takes a "buisness man" to realize that a car takes gas and houses cost money.... lol You can always sell the gift and get free money. I never thought I would hear someone complain about the UFC giving someone somthing for free.

Tito isnt the only guy like this. I can't help but keep harping on this, but Tito is this type of guy:

Tito is the guy that can make say 1 million dollars in one shot, whether it be from fighting, endorsements, etc.

So you figure after taxes on that 1 million, he will clear roughly 675k.

TIto is the type that will buy a 750k house with that thinking he's really made a million. Not realizing that he'll have to borrow an additional 85 k or so. And a bank will loan him that easily.

So, Tito goes buys a house and is in the hole, then maybe some bling, then not realize that you have an electric bill, groceries, etc. Oh, and BTW you're a professional fighter and have massive training expenses in order to stay competitive.

In other words, Tito doesent know how to manage his money.

Now Chuck LIddell on the other hand? Albeit, he does have an accounting degree. HE knows how to handle money and I gurantee his debt is minimal at best.

You don't hear Chuck bitching about money, and he's not even on top anymore. But he's smart and made a nice little nest egg for himself for when his fighting days are over.

Wow...
I really wish he would GO AWAY! The whole talking in third person KILLS me and it makes him sound like a goon...

I hope Machida lays the biggest ass whoopin on him.. I realize it will more than likely go to a decsion but man, it would be sweet to watch him go down in flames for the last time...

I can see it now what GSP has to say about the matter.

FAKE INTERVIEW-

Interviewer: There has been recent accusations that you are not happy with Dana White and the UFC but are too afraid to speak up. Is this true?

GSP: I am very happy the UFC, it's my home and I will never fight anywhere else. The UFC is like the father I never had. I'm very happy with the UFC.

Interviewer: Anything you want to say to Tito?

GSP: I'm not impress by his interviews.:p

SO basically Tito is the type of guy that could win the lottery, and then bitch about how miserable he is because he has to pay taxes on it?

Sorry, I think TIto is full of it in this one. I mean Tito, didnt you ever hear that you shouldn't live beyond your means?

If you're gonna buy a house, then buy one you can afford AND maintain.

Wow, what a whiner.

Adam Wagner: So are you saying that a lot of these fighters who we see on television as the faces of the UFC, do you think that behind the scenes, they are commenting on that type of thing but are just afraid to say it?

Tito Ortiz: Of course they’re commenting on it. There are all kinds of guys … Georges St. Pierre, I know he’s very disgusted with the UFC, but it’s just one of those things where they give him little small things that he thinks are great. He gets a brand new Hummer, like “Wow, I get an awesome new Hummer” (and it) costs 50 grand, and all of a sudden I gotta pay taxes on it, and I gotta pay for gas, and dutta-dutta-duh.

These little small things they give them to make fighters happy because they know they’ve never had those things before. Well let’s think about when fighters have their cars and have their houses, and now all of sudden, they’re like, “Well I want to start paying bills. I want to start paying for all this stuff, because I’m not gonna be able to fight for the rest of my life,” you know.

Five Ounces of Pain | Ortiz throws St. Pierre under the bus

Hats off to Adam Wagner of MMAMania.com for conducting a great interview with Tito Ortiz. Youve got to check it out. Tito always gives good interview, but he was especially on his game. When he wasnt calling Ed Soares, the manager of Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and other top Brazilian fighters, a scumbag, he was throwing Georges St. Pierre under the bus:

Adam Wagner (MMAmania.com): So are you saying that a lot of these fighters who we see on television as the faces of the UFC, do you think that behind the scenes, they are commenting on that type of thing but are just afraid to say it?

Tito Ortiz: Of course theyre commenting on it. There are all kinds of guys Georges St. Pierre, I know hes very disgusted with the UFC, but its just one of those things where they give him little small things that he thinks are great. He gets a brand new Hummer, like Wow, I get an awesome new Hummer (and it) costs 50 grand, and all of a sudden I gotta pay taxes on it, and I gotta pay for gas, and dutta-dutta-duh.

These little small things they give them to make fighters happy because they know theyve never had those things before. Well lets think about when fighters have their cars and have their houses, and now all of sudden, theyre like, Well I want to start paying bills. I want to start paying for all this stuff, because Im not gonna be able to fight for the rest of my life, you know.

I cant be the president of a company and say what happens and say what goes here and what goes there. I want to be a fighter. You got to think outside of the box, and not just think as a fighter, but think as a businessman.

Thats what it really comes down to, because there are other fighters who are screaming as loud as they possibly can under their own tone. And they cant say anything, because the UFC holds a thumb over them. If they speak out, theyll squash em. Just as they did with Randy Couture, they squashed him.

If GSP is in fact disgusted with the UFC, then hes never said anything publicly. And if hes said something privately, Im not sure hes going to appreciate Ortiz taking the liberty of spilling the beans for him.

You really should check out the entire interview. Just click here.
