BJ Penn Is Sick

After the Joe Stevenson fight, BJ licked Joe's blood off his gloves but that doesn't even compare to what he did to Sean Sherk, after he finished him he ran over whiped blood off of his face and licked it.

What is BJ's problem? Anyone else catch that?

It's very gross for sure. I was thinking about this today. I'm kinda hoping that it's just show and doesn't actually make contact with his gloves. Can anyone confirm? On one hand he seems to be an honest fighter with sportsmanship, then he does this stuff. Joe Stevensons wife would have been thinking what after seeing that? Disgusting hardly describes it. You know when you are walking down the street and you stop, look on the bottom of your shoe? There is something stuck there. That something is BJ Penn if in fact he's physically licking his gloves like this. Barely human.

Barnett always sounds like he's whining. It's just a post fight antic bro, not a patent on extracting shale oil.

Of all the fighters I have met in person, Barnett was easily the most cold and impersonal.

Great fighter, but jeesh, can't even deal with people celebrating without saying they are stealing his gimmick.

BJ should reconsider the blood licking though, that's just nasty.

Both things are from pro wrestling anyways so it was stolen either way lol.
As for the blood licking...well im not sure its his culture but in some cultures the licking of a downed enemy is a sign of respect in the fact that your taking part of his knowledge & soul.

in medieval hist class i cant remember who it was, maybe the visgoths or something but they drank the blood of opponents after battle as an offering to the gods

They do blood tests before the fights I am sure so there is no risk for that kind of thing. But yes it looks a little disturbing licking someones blood up.

I think after the bath he took in 'Big Daddy's' blood, he has the hunger for it again. The man is a beast of a fighter. Personally don't care for it, the blood licking -does nothing for the sport as a whole, more of a detriment, gives fuel to those that are against MMA as barbaric and such...I like watching BJ's fights but now I'd like to see him lose to someone outspoken and hav that done unto him......Sort of that feeling that I got about Tito years ago doin the gravedigger. Hey maybe since Tito's out now the UFC can use another stud with a badboy image.

With all of the diseases and viruses floating around, I would NEVER lick another person's blood. Even pre-match testing could get it all wrong. HIV/AIDs can take weeks to show up on any tests. What if Sherk had unprotected sex with a hooker a week before the fight with BJ Penn? I know that sounds outlandish since Sherk is married with children and all that, but stranger stuff has happened. Blood licking is for those bygone eras when all the sicknesses and diseases were unknown.

I like Barnett but come on, you didn't invent that ****.
And I like BJ, but it is a bit much. It's him being the "wild man" that he is though. Probably happened because he's emotional and not really thinking things through.
