I like Machida, and I feel he has the skills to finish many of his opponents. I just really wish he would be more aggressive.

I probably "like" him a bit more because all the haters are out of control.

I think exploiting that is about the only way to stopping him

We have been seeing the same thing then.
As much as I love Machida I did not like that he gassed that much against Tito.I am not sure if the reason is that he`s style takes a lot of energi?
I mean,he moves a lot. Much more then his opponents do.

i'll be honest, I did'nt really care for Machida when he first came to the UFC. i suppose i've grown accustomed to seeing a little more toe to toe type of action, brawling etc.. Machida does neither of those things and i began to wonder if he was being passive just to win fights. After watching him take out Soko and then Tito i really began to appreciate the guy for being able to make everyone fight his fight.

I think MMA is some kind of art. Or a very good chess match. But in the end, it always will be fighting.
And that is why we watch MMA, because it is fighting. If we wanne watch chess, we will watch Chess.
And besides that, the simpel MMA fan likes the big knock outs, the slams. That kind of stuff. We like the chess game off an MMA fight. In that chess game, i think Machida's way off winning if far the most boring one out there.
It is just boring. And as Tito said. Come on lets fight. And that is what it is at the end of the day. Fighting.
So no, i don't think MMA is some kind of violence, i just think Machida's way of winning is a very very boring way to win a chess match.
And he is terrible to sell to a big audience.

I voted yes! Although in his first few (UFC) matches, i found him a little boring, i've begun to appreciate his fighting style. In his fight against Tito he was really impressive in the way he was fighting. Sticking to his own way instead of being baitted by Tito in a clinch/brawl.
And i'm really looking forward to him fighting the top of the LHW's. If he looses, so be it, if he keeps winning it will be all the more impressive.

So the next Machida fight we should have a bet yeah?
Machida is the man! His style is a work of art and I love watching him fight. I hope he gets Liddell/ Wandy/ Shogun(the only 3 ranked higher IMO) next just to prove to the fans that he's the real deal.

I agree. I'd like to see how Machida does against one of the top strikers in the LHW division. Will his style continue to work against an aggressive striker like Liddell or Wandy? Or will he be in trouble against one of those top-level strikers? I guess time will tell.

If he gets anyone other than the names I listed I will be pissed(as I'm sure alot of people will)! I hope its Shogun because I think he poses the biggest threat to Machida.
Liddell vs Machida would be nice but I think there would be little action. Machida by UD.
Wandy vs Machida- Wild strikes would be the downfall of Wandy no doubt. Machida by KO/TKO.

I like the guy but i ahve yet to see him on his back so I can't get into the whole no weakness thing just yet. I know he is a BJJ guy too but not all BJJ guys transfer that to good MMA BJJ. If he is as elusive on his back as he is on his feet then....well yeah.

Exactly, I think Machida would make a great champ! If his challengers wants the belt, they have to attack him, thus setting up his counters.
For the record, I too wish Machida would encounter slightly more for the sake of battling hard, but other than that, being disciplin and smart is what martial arts is about to me.
