I actually see rich kocking hammil out. I know people say he's got a good chin but as someone mentioned he hasn't fought a striker like Rich. Matt's standup defense is crap. I don't care how lucky he's been as far as not getting knocked out. Eventually that bad defense is gonna lead to him getting caught. Also, If the fight is at 205 Rich will not have to cut the rediculous amount of weight he normally does. He usually walks into the ring looking like he's taken 20 enimas just to cut weight.

easy KO win for rich... not much to consider here... hamil does NOT have a great chin, he has powerful but sloppy standup and he will get hit hard.

Rich himself once admitted that he is'nt built for 205. He said his frame is too small to carry 205lbs. effectively. Hamill on the other hand is a natural 205 pound fighter with great wrestling and heavy hands that caught Mike Bisping off guard in that fight. So i am not so sure that Rich is going to walk through this one.

Wow, interesting match up.
My bet would be on Franklin, but I can't count Hammil out.
I see this fight going 2 different ways.
TKO for Franklin in the 2nd or Decision for Hammil.
For now, I'd say Franklin should have the odds. But......if Hammil concentrates on his stand up this could be a close fight.
Tough one to call for sure.

I love Hamill but I see this match ending much like the Quarry/Franklin.
this will not be pretty.
Would not mind seeing a Franklin v. W silva/Jardine/Liddell matches in the future. Franklin is more of a LHW anyways.

I like this match up especially since I'll be there!!! You know Hamill's been working on stand up 24/7. I think this will be a great fight. Even though I like Matt I have to go with Ace in a close one. I think Matt will get tired and Rich will take advantage of that.

As far as I can tell, Hamill's never been T/KO'd.

How in the world can you say that Hamill has no chin!? He has one loss to Bisping (he won by the way) and he took some big shots from Boetch and others. He hasn't even been rocked if I am correct. To say that you think Rick will win is cool, but say say that a fighter has no chin when he hasn't been stopped or rocked for that matter is silly

Hamill has been rocked before I think. If I remember correctly, on TUF 3 he went to the doctor because he had gotten rocked. I remember they were like, wtf? He has never been rocked before? I think I understand why now...

He went to the doctor because he had an arm injury and he broke his nose.

All of the guys tried to show him up. They where mad that he was Tito's boy or that he went to hard or something of that nature and the entire cast pretty much went to work on him.
But then again, taking many shots throughout a period of time and getting a concussion and taking a hard one on the chin are two different things

Rich looks like the winner on paper due to his experience and more well rounded game, but I don't have a lot of faith in his chin. If he gets caught flush he will likely go down and Hamill always to seems to land some good shots.

I dont think this fight should happen. I would much rather see Drew Mc Fedries fight Franklin. This will probably be a boring fight Hamil does not have enough experience in mma yet . I dont understand why they would match these 2 up seems pretty boring to me and fights should be exciting . They should match exciting fight like the Jardine theory. greatb stand up fighter , lets have him fight chuck ! now that is exciting not Matt Hamil vs Franklin i just am not excited , in fact i am confused

This is a tough fight to judge IMO. On paper, Franklins experience and all around skill level leads you to automatically pick him as the winner vs a guy with hammils limited skill set and fight experience. Once you consider the fact that Franklin is normally the stronger, larger man but in this fight Hammil is going to be the much larger and stronger man. I wouldnt bet on or against Franklin in this fight. I can see Hammil just overpowering him. I dont see hammil having a problem taking him down now keeping him down is a whole nother matter.

The fight is really a win-win for Hamill. If he wins obviously that would really push him up the ladder, but even if he losses, it would be a loss to Rich Franklin so it wouldn't really hurt his status in the UFC.

I dont like this matchup AT ALL.
I think rich wins in the second via KO.

This is what I was thinking...Rich moves to 205 for some fresh air and BAM...Silva's right there with him. Talk about a tough man to get away from.

I do agree that out of all the people Hammil has faced, Rich is the most likely to KO him but the same thing has been said in all of his fights. I can see Rich htting Hammil w/ a series of good shots when Hammil is gassed and not fighting back enough and it getting stopped but I dont see a clean 1 shot KO like when Rich fought Quarry which was stated earlier which I find that comparison ridiculous btw.....

I'm as interested in knowing what Rich's fight weight will be as I am in anything having to do with Hammil. I bet he won't go in above 200, I say 198 plus or minus 2 lbs. Anyone else thinking the same thing?
