Hendo graduated from my high school two years before I began attending. He came back and helped coach the wrestling team a few times. Very cool and unbelievably strong. He actually sent tickets to one of the wrestling meets at Cal State Fullerton and our coach packed about 12 of us into the back of his van that had no seats. We moshed almost the whole way there and the coach ran over a dog on the trip home. When we foundout he was going to the olympics a few years later it was insane. We were all pretty much Hendo nuthuggers already, but when that was announced it became borderline mancrushes. Good times.

Matt and Nicky Serra are my homeboys. Two excellent teachers and friends. Luke Cummo is awesome, weird, but awesome. Been rolling with him for his next fight. Drago is mad gangsta, haha, but awesome too, possibly one of the funniest dudes I ever met....I once stuffed one of his takedowns...once. Aaron Riley came down to train with us for a few days, he's a beast, but one of the humblest, friendliest beasts you'll ever meet. I train/drink with a bunch of dudes that do the Ring of Combat thing, they're all great people too. I ran into Hendo at a ROC event, he's cool as hell, so humble (check out my "Ran into this guy last night" thread )
I've found that most fighters are incredibly down to earth, friendly dudes that simply treat people the way they wish to be treated.

Do you know what ended up happening with Joe Scarola and Serra?

They don't hate each other, I guess you could say, but when the show was over, Joey didn't have a job at the school. He went and opened his own place on the island that is doing pretty well for itself. Neither of them wishes anything bad for each other, but they def aren't the way they were before that whole debacle.

I met Diego Sanchez and Keith Jardine in Myrtle beach S.C. Keith was cool did not really say much but Diego was nuts. My wife and I worked at Club Kryptonite and she was a bar tender in the VIP room. All the employees knew how into MMA I am so when Diego came to the club everyone started running up to me and letting me know he was there. I looked around and couldn’t find him. Later on someone came up to me and said he was in the VIP room hitting on my wife so I ran in there he was talking to her at the bar so I came up from behind and said "Hey you hitting on my wife"? He turned around with a look of shock and what the f*** but before he could say anything I busted out laughing with " Your Diego Sanchez man its cool" He started to laugh too then we took pictures like we were in a pre fight stare down at weigh inns. The club stays open till 4:00 am and him and I split a bottle of Patron got tore da **** up. At the time he was at the club we were filming a reality show about the bar business so we had a camera crew there filming all our antics. He also told me he got his stare down from Wanderlei Silva All this took place about 3-6 months after TUF showed aired so that is my story in a nutshell. Very cool guy can drink a ton and did not mind me asking questions about why he makes certain choices in the ring.

Tuf contestant Ross Pointons gladiator gym is a 10 minute walk from my house, see him out and about all the time but only really spoke to him a few times. cool guy and exactly the same as he was on tv.
Michael Bisping was at a muay thai event that my club attended, i couldnt go due to family stuff but half of them came back with loads of signed stuff and photos and he even gave one of the kids a pair of his own signed gloves.

in Tokyo
Living in Tokyo, you can bump into a lot of K1 fighters in Roppongi.
I've seen Jerome Le Banner, Kid Yamamoto on a few occasions, Mark Coleman, Genki Sudo.
My coolest experience is meeting Wanderlei Silva in his Pride Fighting days. He was at this club called 99 and it wasn't a particularly crowded night. I was a little drunk at the time so I simply walked up to him and started talking. Admittedly I didn't talk for long -just told him I loved his fighting style and was stoked when he got his revenge and split decision win against Ricardo Arona. He thanked me a couple of times. Then I walked off and gave him his space obviously because he was looking for some punani.
He walked around the club and had these girls trailing him like a piece of meat

Well I had the opportunity to train with Mike Swick, Cain Velasquez, and Trevor Prangley. All three were very down to earth guys. Trevor is actually a very good teacher, one heck of a wrestler! Swick was laid back, very talkative. Cain was more reserved and when I told him that he looked great in his last fight, he was suprised that I had saw it.
Dan Barrera trained at the same school as me. Anyone that has chatted with me on here knows his story.... If you haven't, I'll tell you sometime. I just don't want to post it on here.
I also met Matt Hughes a couple years back, just at an autography session.

I LOL'd.
I never met anyone in the UFC, but I did get the chance to talk to Matt Hamill on Myspace, he's a really cool guy and takes the time to answer people.

Babalu- great guy. very nice. i met him once, then he recognized me the next time we ran into each other, and we sat down and had a few drinks together. really cool guy.
Clay- another awesome dude. no one really recognizes this guy, so he just acts like your average dude. met him at the hardrock pool during REHAB (huge pool party... youtube it if you havnt heard or been, its nuts) on memorial day weekend ... he was pretty tanked and dancing with some black girl with huge cannons. very nice guy.
chuck liddel and rampage- briefly met both of these guys, both were crazy busy and didnt get into too much convo.
its funny man, i meet celebrities quite often and im never star struck. but whenever i come across a fighter, im like a kid in a candy shop.
