New James Irvin Interview
The morning show on the radio station I work for interviewed The Sandman today and it was really cool. He talks a bit about his strategy against Silva and even weighs in on the Rampage ordeal.

I have no ill will for Silva, but I hope Irvin takes him out...to teach Dana a friggin' lesson for putting this half ash show on the same night as Affliction...I think it'd be funny since he likes to regularily brag about how good Silva is and that he fights in the UFC and all.

That was a good interview. I am beginning to really like the guy. How could'nt you? He's obviously in the sport to fight and to fight anyone and everyone. Should be a good fight with Silva.

Yeah, I've liked Irvin for a while now and I was honestly a bit shocked when I heard about this fight with Silva. I can't believe Dana would allow this because IMO Irvin poses a very serious and dangerous threat to Silva. Irvin is tough as nails, scared of nothing, and has huge knockout power. I can totally see another instance of the underdog winning here, and not only because Irvin's got the heart to hang with and beat Silva, but the tools as well.
I like Silva a lot, but I'm pulling The Sandman in this fight because I really like his attitude towards the game (which is right on par with Silva's), AND I want to see how Dana reacts when his plan backfires on him.

I like Irvin also but I really think Silva will dominate him. Silva's strikes are so precise that if he hits Irvin and gets him into trouble, Silva will finish him off. Silva is a good finisher when his opponents are hurt.
But again, anything can happen and I will have to record this event on DVR and watch the Affliction event instead.

I hear and feel ya. My concern is the weight.
I mean again, I might be over-judging this based on boxing standards. But going up or down in a weight class is sometimes a weird gray area even for great fighters.
Except "Pac-Man" LOL
Not saying Silva will lose, I'm just throwing in the points on Irvin because of the weight and Irvin is a proven KO guy who's not losing either way because he's just at his normal fighting weight.
Love how he gave Fairtex their props. I'm sure he started out at Fairtex San Francisco, which NEVER gets mentioned as a great place. THey don't just teach Muay Thai either. They freakin have the who's who in BJJ/Grappling, and MMA.
I've always like Irvin, and funny enough as close as our gyms are (only about Hour 45 minutes away, I've never met him).
I'm rooting for him all the way, and I LOVE Anderson, for me again, it's just the weight.

Silva will kick Sandman's azz. It will be no different than any other Silva fight. First it was Franklin that people thought would win. Then it was Henderson, because of his punching power and Greco Roman skills. Now people are saying Sandman will win because of the the weight class.
People just don't learn. After Sandman, it'll be someone else.
Silva will jab move, jab kick, and jab knee Sandman to death. It won't last past the 2nd round.
