Thanks for doing this mate, it's always good to see the champs on top that's the way it should be IMO.

Nice rankings there, much better turnout than last month which has led to different opinions and more interesting rankings. That's good there are a couple of ties, shows how close everything is. I also think lightweight is the strongest at the moment, some good guys not even making the list. Lauzon and Danzig certainly come to mind.

Good rankings this month - though it's so weird seeing such a dip in votes for Coleman vs. the next highest spot on the rankings.

Also, every time I see new LW rankings I'm always like "Hey, wtf!? Where's ____ or ____ or the other top guys that should be there!?", then I remind myself, "Oh yeah, I forgot, there's like a million good guys in that division..."

Yeah great rankings and we almost had another month w/ all unanimous #1s but I knew that Forrest would not get all possible votes so I expected that anyway.....

Yeah, the way I see it, if you are the champ you are number one. He beat the supposedly number one guy back to back (one being for the title). I think people are get on him for being a TUF and not beating the champ convincingly. So in a way I understand one or two people putting Rampage ahead of him but not another fighter who hasn't fought anyone in top ten.

That would be me, I had Machida at number 1. I can obviously see why Griffin was number 1 in most people's opinions though. The way Lyoto has been tearing it up though made the decision for me.

That is the way I do it as well, the champ gets #1 wether I like him or not. I dont agree w/ people ranking Rampage ahead of him though b/c they fought once and Forrest won. I can understand someone ranking Machida ahead of him to some extent.....

I dunno. Seems to me that you should vote on the best fighter. Did you consider Serra the best WW in UFC while having the belt? I'd say no. Would you consider Cote the best MW if he happens to land a lucky shot and knock out Silva? He'd be deserving the belt because knocked out the champ, but that doesn't mean he's the better fighter.

Shouldn't FF's ranking reflect who's considered the best fighter, not just show who happens to have the belt?

Actually no, but if you check back on the rankings when Serra had the belt I voted him as #1 and GSP is my fav fighter. I guess I look at it a little differently than you, if you got the belt then you earned the distinction as the #1 fighter IMO even if I dont think you are the best.....

Ah ok, I guess we have a little bit different view of this but I can def see where you're coming from.

Anyway, all in all I think it's a great list. Thanks for doing this.

Yeah its cool bro. That is your thought and vote. That is why I volunteered to take over the rankings system. Besides it would be boring if there wasn't speculation.

they way I see it, opinon shouldnt top actual performance. It used to drive me crazy when people would rank AA over Sylvia when Sylvia beat him 2 out of 3 times. When Serra beat GSP he was in my opinion the best. Not because I thought he was the best but because he went out there and proved it by beating the best guy in dominating fashion. IMO the champ is the one guy who has proven he is the best. Everyone else may look better on paper but to be the champ you have to prove it in the cage. Not just appear to be because your fighting other guys. Its mindboggling to me how someone can rank Machida #1 when he hasnt fought a single contender. Thats why its better when more people vote. So everyones opinion gets heard and we end up with solid ranking like we have this month.

Thanks again stillstanding for doing this

Absolutely bro but it is just that to me that makes these rankings really accurate for a forum ranking. We have many voters who rank in different ways which makes the rankings diverse because they encompass many different variables of how the forum members vote.....

Its crazy. After every ranking I look at the middle weight and it is either Franklin at 2 and Hendo very very very close behind or vice versa. These guys really need to fight.
