And in Pride its the same thing. People grab the ropes all the time. Even the almighty Andrei grabbed the fence to take Brinks back and sub him in his first fight in the octagon. I don't hear anyone screaming about that. I don't think Sylvia is on Andrei's level in terms of skill either, but I do think that he will give Andrei a much better fight than he did the first time.
I still think the fence grab kept Tim from being Belly-backed, Silva already had him in the air when Tim grabbed the fence.
Does not matter now but if Silva has him away from the fence and finishes the suplex, Big Tim would be in a world of trouble.
but guess we will never know, just a disappointing match overall though.

Thumbs up

I have to say that I did like this fight card

I was glad to see that TUF1 fighters Leben and Bonnar won their matches. I was also some what surprised to see Burkman win his match. And, I was impressed with the BANG that Duane Ludwig put down on Goulet. Over-all it was a good UFN for Spike TV, although it was not the best UFN so far...

As a matter of interest, I think that the TUF's Ultimate Fighter Finales have been much better than the UFN shows. Maybe TUF fighters just have more to prove...

I think we are done with this thread. Maybe a mod could unsticky it and replace it with a stickied thread for UFC 58.

Actually there might be a little more to talk about on this thread. If anyone is interested, I remember someone asking if Irvin's arm was okay, apparently that wasn't even an issue. But I read this on MMAweekly today

"One interesting side note about Irvin. In his last fight with Stephan Bonnar, Irvin apparently did not tap out to a Kamura against Stephan Bonnar. Irvin said that he tapped out due to a body triangle choke and he couldn’t breathe...that was why he tapped, not the kamura. I guess we all need to go back and watch it. He said his arm was fine, even though it was being bent like a wet noodle."

Did anyone else notice that Bonnar had a body triangle on? Thought that was kind of weird. I guess since the focus of everyone was on his arm then it wasn't noticeable.

I didn't honestly have a clue he had a body triangle on Irvin. That is some crazy stuff. I'll definitely have to go back and watch the fight now. He had him two different ways.

I would have ordered this card, (dont' usually order the UFC for the lack of talent/big names on fight card.) But I just got the pride lastnight, hope this card turns out as good as it looked..

I hate the theme of CAnadian up and commers vs USA, IMO they(ufc) should be sued for not providing the best talent from both countries..
It's like have USA vs CAnada hockey, we use team canada to face American tripleA team... Canada vs USA is Bs IMO, jsut brings out all those stupid lil hicks that end up cheerin for thier country rather than teh fighters..

Dana's a dirt bag and proves it everytime I read article from him or about him.

they should be sued??? for what? dont get that..
i dont like the usa canada theme either because gsp got screwed in ufc 50 when it was everyone and matt hughes against him, i dont think its a matter of nationalism, i think its a matter of great fighters.... in hte 2 big fights i actually like all 4 fighters regardless of where they are from
