Matt had to leave early because he had to get back to the Nursing Home.

Nope. I don't know why anyone cares what Matt says.

Ok, Since Matt got his ass handed to him twice in the hands of GSP, he is the last person to be saying GSP's performance was not up to scratch,

but its just Matt's opinion !! , Matt's not saying he is better then him or anything , he's just saying that GSP has fought better then this in previous fights! , thats all his saying , and all of you agree on this! , what's the big deal?

Cool

When BJ Penn stepped into the octagon after GSP-Fitch, I actually expected Penn to say, "I am not impressed with your performance." LOL. Now, it's Matt Hughes saying it. Recall that GSP said that exact same comment after entering the octagon after Hughes-Penn 2. Hughes, GSP, and Penn, these three guys make me laugh. You gotta love 'em.

Hughes said it first though.
After GSP-Penn.

And then he got his knickers in a bunch when GSP returned the favor.
el oh el.

For the record, I don't see what the big deal here is either.
But this happens every time Hughes says something even slightly critical of something.

I found the fight not that exciting myself to be honest but then again I was actually disapointed with many matches this evening.
As good as any fight may be, there will always be someone who did not like it. Most people thought it was a great fight but I am not suprised to see 1 person not think so, actually I expected it.....

Not only what you said, but he never actually says he wasn't impressed by GSP's performance. I've walked out of or turned off many blowout performances by sporting teams that I was impressed with, but quit watching because the result was a forgone conclusion. People need to check themselves on their Hughes hate. Funny how everyone seems to think he shouldn't have an opinion while everyone here seems to have plenty. A bit ridiculous.

I guess Matt wasn't impressed with GSP's performance, and he shouldn't be. It must bother him that he got schooled in his last 2 fights with GSP (and Alves) and Fitch took GSP the distance. I was impressed with GSP's domination of Fitch, and with Fitch for taking the beating and not quitting. Can't say the same for Hughes however...

The more Matt Hughes talks, the more and more I start to dislike him. And to think, he used to be one of my favorites. He acts like an arrogant ash! He needs to STFU and Retire. He's not going to ever do anything in the WW division again anyway...at least not against top contenders. The game has passed him by. Go back and plant your corn, slop your hogs, or whatever it is that you do on your farm.

Matt Hughes interview. : MatRatz.com

I don't know here is a audio interview where he discusses this and to me he sounds bitter saying things like he didn't even want to see the fight.

Surprising he sat next to BJ and they got along. And whether he was actually bored with the fight or, going around in every interview saying you left early just isn't necessary.

Sorry sub but I can't stand hughs either I mean the guy stinks of snootiness I mean look at him before each fight just standing there across the cage like a stuck up a-hole.

Granted alot of things he says is true but its the way he does it that bothers me.

I think one of the biggest things was him talking about gracie being old school & how he was a better fighter cause he was the new breed & now look he is the old breed but with the cockiness of a champion.

Matt Hughes has an opinion just like all of us.. He is critical of fights and of fighters just like all of us.. the only difference is that some people somewhat pay attention to what he writes online, unlike us..

Hughes is just bitter from getting his butt handed to him twice my GSP and lossing his match with Alves.

I think he (Hughes) is just playing mind games with GSP right now. George is probably my favorite fighter but all in all his greatest weakness is when someone gets in his head. If Hughes could do this and Penn was to beat GSP (I will cry BTW), Hughes would feel like he Won a victory over Pierre in that perspective which would help with his pride. I used to like Hughes but antics have caused me to very much dislike the guy.
