If Hughes can't get someone on the ground, he loses. It's not rocket science.

Fitch would beat Hughes.
Kos would beat Hughes.

I've been saying that forever now. I wish they'd just put either of those match-ups together to prove me right.

Cool

I agree. But, I'm just saying that we never know for sure until, like Gooner pointed out, the fight actually happens. At this point, it might be considered an upset for Hughes to defeat Koscheck or Fitch or even Diego Sanchez. I would like to see all three of those fights sooner or later. Matt Hughes is 7-3 in his last ten fights, and 1-3 in his last four fights over the past two years. He's seen better days for sure. Desperation for wins could lead to some new moves from Hughes and some big wins. I doubt it, but it could happen.

You would think so but for some reason I think he is to unwilling to admit that his style is no longer any good.

I agree. Hughes' style was great 5 years ago, but the game of mma constantly changes and has developed above and beyond his style. Hughes is still a top 10 ww, but not much more. Fitch and Kos would both destroy him. Sanchez would be a good fight and Alves and GSP have already destroyed him. I wouldn't be surprised to see Serra beat him either.

Hughes is pretty much a one dimensional Figther, just a wrestler, if he has any sort of chance of getting back into contention for the WW title, he basically needs a new skillset, like Striking

I am not impressed with your criticisms of Matt Hughes criticism.

He is a wrestler, but also a submission artist. I'll give him that.

I would say he has submission skills but gsp or penn would be considered more of an artist then hughes.

Hughes probably will never win another fight (In the UFC). His fire and passion is gone and no longer has the look in his eyes. I still think Sierra may beat him.

He's a top position grappler.

He's not submitting anyone off his back.

Hughes is done, finito. He has no business fighting. He is not even top 10 in the UFC anymore. GSP, Fitch, Alves, Koscheck, Sanchez... All of those people would beat him. Hughes has lost edge, size and confidence. He no longer can dominate opponents.

If he ever fights Fitch I am willing to bet 5 to 1 on Fitch against anybody.

Fitch and Hughes would be a beatdown of Hughes.

Who leaves half way through a main event?
I respect what he did in the Octagon while he was a champ..he WAS good. It's over now though and he can't accept that.
