Robbie Lawler, or Phil Baroni?
Who would you rather see Leban fight? Phil Baroni or Robbie Lawler? I personally would like to see both in the UFC again. Either one would be a good match.

Robbie Lawler definitely. I'm not sure if he is still in the Miletich camp, but if so, another Miletich guy never hurts my feelings.
I liked what I saw of Robbie Lawler, even when he got KOed by Diaz. He has a lot of fire, and I think he is definitely more exciting than Baroni.

I'd rather see Robbie Lawler in there too. That guy is an explosive fighter. I'd be a good fight forsure.

I agree. He is a very exciting fighter and some people talk a lot of crap about him because he lost a couple fights. I just don't see how someone can not like the guy after the war he and Lytle had.
I think Lawler will be the better matchup for Leben though. Baroni gasses way too easily and Leben can swing for the fences for 3 rounds and be readty to go some more. That is unless he is covered by a human blanket.

I think that Baroni would give Leben a better fight than Lawler. Lawler needs to stick with both KOTC and Icon Sport untill he gets a little better. Besides, Lawler says he's only going to compete at welterweight.

Did he say that recently? I was just wondering since he is the 185 title holder.

I read that after he beat some noob in KOTC. I believe it was on InsideFighting.com. Isn't he a 170 champion? He's fight "Mayhem" Miller next spring for that title.

Yeah he fought some guy at KOTC a couple months ago I think, I can't remeber his name but his Icon Sport title is the 185 class. Miller and him are fighting in February. That's going to be an awesome fight. I really think Robbie has gotten better because he knocked Falaniko out Miller had a bit more trouble with Vitale. I'm just excited to see either one of them (and Baroni) fight. I would like Robbie at 170 but they need more guys at 185.

Baroni.
I think Baroni would completely dominate Leben.
Lawler impresses me even less than Leben.
I imagine though, that if Leben fights one of the two, it will be Lawler as Dana wants to try and keep Leben on a win streak for as long as possible and and IMHO, Leben would only have a lucky punch chance against Baroni as Baroni is a way better stand up fighter than Leben.

Baroni and Lawler are both one dimensional fighters with more weaknesses than strengths. i have never really cared for either of them, they both seem to be more worried about appearing to be tough than winning fights. i don't want to see either of them fight in the UFC anytime soon.

MMA weekly is reporting that Lawler is about to sign a 3-fight deal with ICON that will not allow him to fight anywhere else during that period. Mayhem just signed the same deal as well. So all of the rumors of Mayhem and Robbie fighting again in the UFC will not happen at least until 2007.

Phil Baroni Would destroy Chris Leben so I would like to see that, but like I read before Robbie Lawler is a better match for him.

Yeah I saw that too. I also received an email from Patrick Freitas the day they signed the deal but didn't check my mail til after MMAweekly reported it. Miller is definitely getting comfortable in Hawaii. I don't blame him. He should be an even bigger draw eventually and I know he and Lawler have attracted my interest and I'm really excited to see their next fight.
Apparently the rumors flying are Baroni and Leben to fight sometime. I can't remember what event but that should end up being a good match. I think Baroni would pull it off if he makes sure the gas tank is full and ready to go. There's no way Chris is taking him down, so they'll probably go toe to toe the entire time. Should make for an interesting match.

Plus, Icon-Sport isn't an easy leauge. He'll have his handfull there. It'll be a great chance to really find himself before going back to the UFC.
