Default Chuck wants title shot next

- CHUCK LIDDELL WANTS TITLE SHOT AFTER UFC 88 - MMA WEEKLY - Mixed Martial Arts & UFC News, Photos, Rankings & more

He makes it pretty clear that he is more interested in a title shot before fighting any dream matches such as A. Silva.

I hope it happens just so I can see the meltdown on FF of Machida getting past over for Chuck. I can dream, I can dream.

I don't mind that, I would like to see Forrest vs. Chuck, and even if Wandy vs. Forrest happens first, and Wandy beats Forrest, Chuck vs. Wandy II for five five-minute rounds will be amazing if its anything like the fight last december, so I would be happy with either to be fair.

Of coarse he rather go for the title rather than Silva.. He has a much better shot at the title...

I would agree that it would appear to be an easier fight, but I don't think that is his reason. The title is more important to him and I don't think he would shy away from a fight with Silva. The man has said before that he would like to fight Fedor and if he would fight Fedor he would no doubt fight Silva.

Assuming Chuck gets by Rashad uninjured, I expect Chuck vs Forrest at the end of the year.

I think they'll give Machida a shot if he looks spectacular against Thiago.

I think Chuck deserves a shot. Will the UFC give it to him? Probably after machida.

Machida > Forrest
Chuck > Machida
Chuck > Wandy

If wandy loses, i see him fighting Dan Henderson

Problem being that in the eyes of most, Machida doesn't look spectacular. I don't think Machida is up for the next title shot. My view is that Dana gave Machida Thiago so that he wouldn't have to give him a title shot no matter what. Of course if he gives an objectively spectacular preformance he might get a shot, but I would consider it highly unlikely.

But what about Rampage? Someone of these fighters needs to go through Rampage to get the shot.

I vote on Machida for a title shot if he beats Thiago.
Chuck vs Page for a title shot if Chuck beats Rashad.

Hendo should stick to 185 for now imo.

In my opinion this is not accurate. Chuck has fought Randy Couture twice, Tito twice, Rampage twice, Wanderlei Silva, Babalu twice, Kevin Randalman, Keith Jardine, Vitor Belfort and more than that.

He's fought the toughest guys in the sport. I don't think there is a single fighter that has a track record like that. I just think he wants his title back.

One can argue that an ex-champion always deserves a chance to get his title back. Chuck never got it against Quinton and Rampage hasnīt gotten it against Griffin, at least thatīs what it looks like. So from that point of view, yes Chuck should get a chance, but so should Quinton. IMO Quinton should fight Griffin, but thatīs just the fight I want to see.. Machida also deserves it. Chuck.. I donīt know.. Chuck just doesnīt seem himself anymore. Letīs see how he does against Rashad.

That chance sailed away with Jardine imho.

Personally I don't like immediate re-matches. Page should win one against a solid top 5 fighter before he's worthy of a re-match. If Chuck beats Rashad he's worthy of a title fight, but then again Machida is even more so

IMO Liddell didn't look to great against Wanderlei so he should put in a pretty damn impressive show against Rashad before he looks for the title.

I thought bolding one part of your post was definition enough.

So you disagree because I was off on the 3 fights? Okay, he's beaten Couture twice.

Either way, He's beaten the toughest in the game. And two losses in a row does not in anyway discount his potential. Nor does his age since he did defeat Wandy recently.

My point is that his notable victories are second to none. And that is not a fact failed.

Chill guys, I say if the UFC wants to give the most dominat former UFC LHW champ one last run at the title, so be it. The division is so stacked the belt will probably change hands quite often imo.

I'm not disagreeing with you man. I thought that would be clear because the fact that he has fought Randy more that 2 times would rather make your argument stronger.

Just to add something constructive I think Chuck looked good in the fight against Vandy. Not great, but at the same time Vandy is a really good opponent so it's hard to look too dominant. However looking at Chuck's 3 last fights he hasn't been impressive. He needs at least one great preformance to deserve a shot since LHW is just so stacked. Imo Chuck is 2 fights from a title fight. First Rashad, then a top 5er.
